It's no bug, you can dash during the W animation of Mao travelling, then he also flashed away between the mao W and Q No, Maokai follows you. That was always a thing about Twisted Advance: if they dash or flash during the "travel time", Maokai will follow them anyway (hence why he was so good and reliable at diving when he was popular). He reached Lucian and reappeared there, so Lucian dashed after, but he wasn't rooted since he could dash at all. Or he could dash during the root. Anyway that's not how it should work. Fnatic's lack of a frontline while they don't have the damage to deal with Maokai/Braum (nor the range to stay safe from Jinx+Tristana, Lucian against 700+ range opponents? Yeah, have fun) makes them unable to fight unless they can force Alliance to spread out and wait out Unbreakable. Swain may beat Maokai in lane but he's incredibly demanding in terms of farm and levels, and can't 1v2, so lane swaps wreck him, and he can't act as the frontline/super tank later on. Also Swain is bad against anything that's ranged or mobile because he relies on tethers and staying close to his target for extended periods of time to kill them. The Jinx last pick was really well played by Alliance though, they managed to hide their draft/plan until the end, even better they probably could have picked another mid if the conditions weren't met. On the other hand it looks like Fnatic revealed their own too early, and were too happy to "counter" the Maokai with Swain (Swain was 4th pick (3rd wave) against a Maokai 3rd pick (2nd wave) right?). Also Alliance play aggressively, push and don't hesitate to dive when ahead. Sweet change from ROCCAT, Millenium and co.

They're probably the best for it (because imagine Braum with E active and standing in Maokai's ult, etc.) but with marksmen being back to stupidly strong now that they only need 2 items (or IE+RNG) instead of 3 like they did before, you can afford to run less damage threats. It also means if your AD dies and theirs don't, you lose. 2 solutions for this: kill the opposing AD, and/or protect yours. We all know that assassins haven't been viable for awhile, and that burst in general left the game in s3 apart from the relapse of assassins in late season. So you want to have a super strong frontline and peel for your AD. If you can run 2 ADs and get away with it, it's very strong but you'll most likely lack utility. So if your jungler and off laner or support can be super tanky and have utility, it'll bolster your line-up. That's why you see Maokai, Alistar, etc. top lane, instead of Lulu (who lacks tankiness) and Shyvana (who lacks peeling/utility in general).
