Same with Cloud 9, a crapload of people were attributing their success to Alex Penn last season who is indeed a knowledgeable dude, but look he left and C9 is still #1 and Coast is still poop even with him. Of course they matter but nowhere near the proportion seen here Cloud 9 are like MVP. Swagger = LemonNation. But you can't deny that MonteCristo is making wonders with CLG. Thank God, that everyone is listening to him.

Monte definitely has been one part of the CLG success. I definitely believe his strategies have forced CLG to adapt to the meta. For example, I remember Doublelift explaining that he was forced to play Sivir when Sivir was the meta. Additionally Doublelift has been used to group more with the team. Monte's not the reason though, the CLG line-up is really solid now. For the first time, they have a solid jungler in Dexter who can make the plays. Also aphromoo impresses on support and nien is steadily improving. Although Nien still derps, he has been a great team player in teamfights. His Trundle always has on point pillars to help engage or disengage. CLG really has no weak link now. Coast is still poop because their jungler and bot lane consistently lose or fail. Coast also has a shallow champ pool for example Zion looks mediocre on champs not Jax and Wiz is bad on champs not Lucian. Its hard to have good strategy and execution with failing jungler and bot lane and straight out bad picks-and-bans.
