Is there a stream I can watch this on? Edit: The Chinese stream works nvm

Any chance somebody wants to Reddit this for later or something? I feel like mention of Navi's name might actually get some visibility.
Edit: Apparently tobiwan is casting WCIII right now, I wonder if that means somebody a little more 'visible' will be restreaming LoL later as well.

Looks like WC3 was a quick 3-0, so the schedule is likely pushed ~45 mins earlier.

I believe his Eve play is much stronger than his TF play even though he is more known for his TF.

Yeah, the Baron call made sense, 4v5 and what not, but they should have warded and prepared to disengage Baron and engage iG, but they were so tunnel visioned on Baron, and then the steal didn't help.

Yeah, but as a team overall. How often do you see 2 players on each team keeping up with the 100 cs per 10 minute rule. 4 players keeping up; in a match like that. CRAZY. Tons of death, but still able to keep matching cs.

Caomei is CN's Wicked. Never let him Rumble ever.
|
this game is really interesting in that iG is playing the current style with an outdated comp due to the older patch. The amumu is jungling correctly within the current aggro meta but 4-5 patches ago no one in the world played amumu this way, with 20 cs at 10min and tower diving pre 6 all over the map to capitalize on the early pressure. I think judging by this game alone it seems these two teams are much more aggressive then non top tier Korean teams from OGN masters, and obv lightyears ahead of any NA team.

Poor iG, always having to live in the shadow of WE and get underestimated by people. I can't even gush that much about how awesome Zz1tai is because Misaya looked so much better than him tonight. Oh wells. One day when Weixiao slumps maybe iG can dominate China instead of WE.

Grats to WE, well deserved win. iG put up a great right though, punished WE for forcing that Baron Game 2 and absolutely dominated them Game 4. iG still a scary team on an international level.
|
And the half a year win-streak continues, props to iG for giving them a good run for their money though.

Actually Chinese generally think iG has a better top lane and mid lane(zzitai and pdd), and WE has a better jungle and bot lane

Thanks for watching guys! Sorry about the awkward casting, hope you enjoyed it!

I'm surprised that iG pushed WE to 5 games. Impressive showing from them. I know international fans overrate WE, so this might not be a surprise to those in the know, but for those of us unfamiliar with iG's strength this is a welcome surprise. The DOTA2 match-up is gonna be really interesting too, but that's another story.

i talked too much on the whole, should have let wave do his play by play thing a bit more since that's his comfort zone and role. overall i had fun, and the games were very good :3

It also speaks to how Riot needs to do something because it can be deciding when teams are this close in ability.
One wonders if iG would have been the winner if they had been the team that got to play Blue side 3 times.

Thanks for casting this guys. I fell asleep after the first game (being sick sucks) but i thought you both did a good job.

How were the viewer counts? Does G-League publish them?
|
Btw Yango, what patch were they on? As commentators noted, they were really behind on the patch for this tourney. Was Eve pre nerf or post nerf?
|
United States47024 Posts
I thought it was only one patch before Bork change but I think I was wrong. Seems more like either Nami patch or Vi patch with Vi disabled.
I assumed they were using the same TR as Starswar League, but it's possible that G-League has a setup that was using the same patch as the semifinal games from before the Lunar New Year.
On March 10 2013 00:37 nojitosunrise wrote: How were the viewer counts? Does G-League publish them? They do, but because Gamefy also broadcasts on television, they won't have a good total viewer estimate immediately. It's also hard to separate viewer counts by game when everything is broadcast sequentially (easier for streams but not so easy for television).
Current estimates from the DotA 2 GD show something like 80,000 stream viewers, 15,000 live audience, and potentially up to 2 million television views (though this is a ballpark based on Gamefy's previous viewership, so we'll have to see).
|
I just started watching the vods but it was definitely pre-nerf Eve at least since they're opening flask + red pot etc. The flask was changed in the same patch as Eve.

Didn't realize they are THAT far behind with the patches, it's definitely been a while flask has been "nerfed"/cost increased.

I'm pretty sure G-League is intentionally on an older patch to retain parity with the semifinals.
Traditionally, even when a version change occurs in one of the competing titles, G-League sticks with the older version in order to maintain parity through the event (in DotA and WC3). They made the switch for S2->S3 patch going into the semifinals (probably because having the finals played on S2 in March is just absurd), and I assumed they would again for the finals, but I guess they stuck with the old patch.
It's something Riot needs to consider with their patch cycle, as more tournaments are taking the seasonal approach rather than being a one-weekend affair.
