Wow that's insane and that was in the MORNING too!!! Imagine if it was at prime time...would rivals SC2 stream viewer count I don't wanna get into the age old debate or anything because it really doesn't matter for us fans it only matters for sponsors but...LoL routinely surpasses SC2 in viewer numbers at events where both games are being played. But as I said, it's not like it even matters for fans of either game. Well, a larger playing audience generally translates to a larger viewing audience as long as it's not horrible to watch
Edit: Will they release VODs or replays for Day 1?

In IEM Lol had 120k viewers during finals. Dont know about SC2 finals but when lol had more viewers whole time.

What I really want to see tomorrow is an improvement from the person controlling the camera. Hope they see the comments and do a better job following the game.

I doubt this had a third of that, between the time, the stream issues, and the fact that not many Euro's are interested, I'd say probably 20-30k viewers. Tommorro I'm hoping for more, but it will be really early like it starts at 10am eastern which ridiculous early but hopefully it can pull 50-60k =/

The brilliant thing riot has done is constant restreaming of iem and dreamhack as they showed each game like 3 times and had over 20k at all times.

Yes, I think it's a combination of a huge player base and Riot's efforts at really trying to foster an eSports scene like they have. I don't think any dev has ever done what all Riot has for the development of LoL as an eSport. I mean, flying people out to Europe for DreamHack? Paying for all the expenses to MLG events? Putting up $5 million for Season 2?
It's just awesome and I hope other devs start doing stuff like this too.

I usually don't bother discussing the extended series rule, but I think it is poorly applied here in a situation where only 4 teams are present.

Not to mention a bo7 in League of Legends could easily last several hours. It's entirely possible that five games will be played tomorrow which means you could end up with four or five hours just for the finals.
I don't think the model that MLG has been using for SC2 and other games works that great with LoL.

Well, a lot of the SC2 people don't like the extended series either; there are complaints every tournament. MLG just has a set of rules that they use for pretty much every game and then they adapt with changes here and there. I hope that they become more flexible in the future but we'll see what happens.

I don't think the model that MLG has been using for SC2 and other games works that great with LoL. It doesn't even work well for SC2. Extended series is bullshit. Especially in combination with a double elim, you can have it where one side needs to win SIX games before the other guy wins TWO. There's literally no suspense in a final like that.

shoulda done double elimination tourney with seeding from past tourney standings
1st seed clg vs 4th seed crs 2nd seed tsm vs 3rd seed eg
losers plays losers winners plays winners
winner of losers round plays loser of winners round winner of this round plays winner of the winners round with the winners having a 1 game advantage in a best of 3
woulda worked perfectly and the teams have to play less games

All I want to see is HSGG play cho or mundo(yes! im daydreaming ).

That Chauster on Mundo game at Dreamhack was the biggest failure.
Please no. Never again.
