Seems like in league of legends there's a lot of pride on the line per region and everyone wants to prove something. People took it seriously because the prize for winning was an extra slot at worlds. Which is pretty huge. Especially in really competitive scenes like Korea and China (and now, but not at that time, EU). I really think that if you held All Stars after Summer split Alex Ich/Diamondprox/the entire EU All Star team would've taken it much more seriously than they did. Then again I'm only assuming they didn't take it seriously because Alex/Diamond said they didn't want to go at first and they supposedly didn't really practice for it (this could be partially due to language issues though). It'd be cool if the winner got to host worlds but then worlds would be in Korea every year. If SKT wins worlds, and they're probably most people's favorites to win, we'll be able to see just how valuable the All Stars spot is. Regardless, I think if they do All Stars exactly the same as last year teams will take it even more seriously than they did the first time. Every scene has gotten more competitive in just the last four months. | ||
