Because while I've met tons of chill people who have good social skills a large number of them are crazy awkward. The Riot pub crawl at PAX East earlier this year was awful, I don't know how Rioters stayed so nice and I'm pretty sure for a lot of people there it was their first time at a bar. I've met people from various sites and gaming communities and most of them were at least a little bit off beat (but there were also some really cool people too). Go to any convention in America at least and you see a never ending army of people who just don't know how to interact with others in a real life setting. This is based off experience at PAX Prime, PAX East, DragonCon, and Anime Expo (though I have to confess I don't actually like anime but my friends wanted me to go with them). Not to say that any of the nerds/geeks that are awkward are bad people. They're all good people. I've never seen any fights at conventions and everyone there is pretty pleasant aside from occasional groping but holy lord so much awkward. I'd like to think that most people on TL are socially balanced though. | ||

Then again between 12 and 18°C is probably average for where I live (Brittany, so near the ocean but closer to England than Mediterranean weather-wise  ) and when winter closes in we're often below 10°C.Didn't know about the pound conversion, 'll try to remember that one. | ||
