So aftering watch a SV game where he went like 9/1/10 on Hecarim, I understand what actually makes him decent.
It's the fact that he fucking plays at a high level.
All of the fast jungling champs with little to no cc (Shyv, Hec, and to a lesser extent Mundo and Skarner) are only going to work if the lanes you're ranking for actually fucking assist you when you dive/chase for a kill, which means landing Graves smoke, Janna Tornados, etc.
At my level of play this shit just doesn't happen and I can't carry with a jungler ganking with no assistance whatsoever aside from a few measly autoattacks or an ability thrown in here and there. Laners who don't know when/how to engage or bait their opponent hurts my feelings.

Just the fact that hotshot can win games when jungling should show that certain things don't apply at some elo.

While getting laners that don't know how to bait etc is annoying, you get those at all elos, played some games around 1200-1300 elo, jungled shyv and ganked plenty.

Watching the Dyrus stream right now. Silsol was at a time lvl 2 when Kat mid was lvl 7. LOL.
EDIT: ironically Caitlyn is the one doing the best on their team right now. Frankly I think Caitlyn vs Ezreal isn't too bad when it comes to late game.

Protip: Just because a high Elo player is raging at another high Elo player it doesn't make them bad. It's all relative. As far as I'm concerned anyone at 2400 Elo is good; even if they abuse easy mode shit.

Good is such a relative term though.. my school friends think that being in "Gold ELO" makes you a god, but we all know thats not true. "bro its the top 2% thats like mlg". Yeah, compared to them I guess Gold players are pretty good. And yet to Platinum players, gold is nothing. Is platinum the first tier of "good"? Or is platinum really good. I'd argue the latter.
Perhaps the easiest way to define good is how much better you are than the average player. By that standard, anyone 1500+ is certainly good (although not great).

He was on the opposing team and their picks so far were Nunu, Nidalee, Soraka and Cass. Finally AP Nid went bot, Nunu in the jungle and they swapped afk-Shyvana for last pick (the afk part is important, without Teut leaving a good 10 minutes on purpose we'd never have stood a chance  . Dude's scary when he doesn't play Garen).
