I dont think it would have went nearly as poorly as it did if he was there.
CLG was like 2k gold behind on their Top, their Jungler, and their Mid... Even with that throw if Xmithie was still in the game for that 8-10 minutes MTW probably would have won teamfights handily.
I'd even say I'm more of a CLG fan (although Hotshots an idiot) than anything, this just feels kinda cheap.

if he didnt' d/c that baron fight wouldnt have gone nearly that badly. xmithe d/c inside baron pit with baron taking free shots at him. it forced ahri to pull off to try to delay clg's advance, which caused her to insta-die, while soraka wasted all her shit trying to keep xmithe alive.

Of course it feels cheap: there was a d/c and Riot STILL hasn't implemented features necessary for competitive play despite pushing it so hard.
Fact remains that the game was not over when he d/ced. CLG was likely to lose, but not certain.

for clg to win at that point, they literally needed riven/ahri to d/c get a wipe and baron, which was exactly what happened. there was no other way clg could've won.
that being said, while it certainly sucks since mtw basically gave away the game, the rules are pretty clear regarding d/c. TSM had to forfeit yesterday despite being in a close game. granted, this situation is worse but not much you can do unless clg wants to forfeit (unlikely).

CLG really lucked out hard. It wasn't entirely over, at least not enough to warrant an insta-forfeit by CLG, and I think it would be too late for a rematch, and at that point, mtw probably thought they didn't need a rematch in order to win imo. Sucky way to win/lose.
I didn't watch the Dig vs TSM match yesterday, but how much was Dig behind and the state of the game when they forfeited?

While I can understand why people would want CLG to forfeit that game, I can respect it from their end since they're the only team I've ever seen that's won games 4v5 while people have had connection problems. In both the 4v5 wins they've had no one offered to forfeit against them, so why should they be forced to forfeit?

The client definitely needs a pause.
Or another option is to allow a sub to come in and finish playing the game for whichever team much like how things would work in a Basketball, Hockey, or Soccer game. For example should Pobelter DC, Liquid or SYDKTO could finish game for him (I use Crs because they only team I know with so many subs) kinda like how if Anze Kopitar were to get injured in the middle of a game Mike Richards and Jarret Stoll would eat some of his ice time.
I dunno how feasible it is, but it definitely a better solution than "trololol it now 4v5."

And honestly, you don't get to have a team forfeit because you're 4v5 when you're willing to dive in on a team who is AFKing middle to buy you time.
yeah clg was so manner taunting/dancing midlane after taking 5-6k gold worth of baron, dragon, towers, and enemy jungle. mtw real scumbags for attacking after clg tried so hard not to take advantage of the dc.

it's not that big of an upset since TSM forfeited game 1 despite the teams being within ~1k gold of each other. They were getting ddos'd and couldn't play so they just forfeited the game.
game 2 was regi on karthus failing against TD's ryze pretty hard. then regi got caught and TD got baron and won.
