unless they are like MAJOR movie reviewers who look for the finest details like in no country for old men. the writer who made the story originally is really smart. the film wasn't that long and to fit hancock's actual past and everything into the film would have made it too long and people would have complained about that probably. the main point of the film was comedy and so the screen play writers and stuff wrote the hancock story in a comedy way. cutting out the dramatics and the heavy storyline to provide humour. i REALLY think that if hancock was made in a more serious way with a sequel or two or even a television series, you would all be amazed out how great the hancock story really is. + Show Spoiler + he forgot his past and lives like a bum doing heroic acts in the dumbest ways possible that harm the people of the city he is helping. he seems to have no purpose in his life and then he finds out about his past and why he is the way he is. he can't have love if he wants to finally serve a purpose in his life. its a choice he has to make... like cmon. you guys gotta admit, if it were longer and more detailed, it can be really awesome

It seems like the movie got cut more than it should and left out some key parts that would've made the story more believable and not so abrupt. I felt like what I think people who have never read the Harry Potter books would feel from watching the movies, that so much seems to "come out of nowhere" because it isn't sufficiently explained or built up. I didn't feel any sort of connection to any of the characters or their relationships really because of how little they were built up as well. The movie didn't seem to flow that well, which again makes me feel like there was some bad editing done or something. The movie felt rushed in the second half, and very half-ass. In the end, it's an okay movie, but one that I wish I would've watched on DVD.

no story and when there is story its full of errors no plot and no message so this is like 5 or 6 jokes mixed in 2 hours of nothing. This should have been a 20 minute shortfilm and I would have loved it. You know and saw everything ... after you saw the trailer.

it could have been much better because there are some elements of Hancock that could translate into a good movie/story.

+ Show Spoiler + Especially since this is clearly a prequel to the upcoming Thor movie. I think Hancock is going to end up "passing the torch" to a Mjolnir-dependent mortal, though. (I have a suspicion that he is going to become Mjolnir somehow)

and like people said, the first 2/3 to 3/4 of the movie was good, but after that it went downhill lol. still, it was entertaining to watch and i don't regret watching it. however, it's not the kind of movie that i would watch again on my own.

Hancock, for me, was disappointing. All through the movie I was wondering whether or not the movie was worth the money for me. I thought the plot was a decent idea, but was so contrivingly executed that it just fell apart for me. And in the paraphrased words of some newspaper I'm too lazy to remember/look up, not even Will Smith's charisma could save the mess that was Hancock.
