I may be mistaken, but I believe this picture was involved in a huge ethics controversy. If I remember correctly, the child was not dead at the time the picture was taken, the vulture was waiting for it to die. The photographer was highly acclaimed for the heartwrenching photo, but soon activists charged him with some kind of human rights violation because he watched the child die instead of doind somethign to save it. It sparked a debate over when photographers should interfere and when they should not. Correct me if I'm wrong...
