Sometimes having a specific idea can be extremely obsessive - that was exactly the case with the TL Jacket. Even if it was in development more than a year, we only had what you see right now in mind the entire time - nothing else would do. Bottom line the jacket should function as such and be as good of quality as any other jacket we personally own. Make no mistake, this isn't just a promotional jacket - it's a high quality soft shell, tailored and designed not only to look great, but also to keep you warm and comfortable outdoors.
This Friday we will finally be able to offer the jacket on the TL Store. It will be available both on the US and EU store for the price of $129.95 and €98.95 respectively. That's not exactly cheap, but you know what they say: with great product comes greater production costs. As with our shirts, we will try to make them accessible to as many people as possible, but we care about quality first. This is a quality outdoor soft-shell jacket which means that there is a certain cost involved. The initial production run is just 300 jackets, split 200 for US and 100 for EU.
Free Shipping
Starting August 1st all orders made in the US store worth $100 or more get free shipping inside the US. The same applies to the EU for orders worth more than 80€. This obviously will be very convenient for people ordering the jacket, but the policy is extended to any other big order from now on.

I think it looks better without them, and since I'm not getting paid to wear them anyway, I'm happy not to have them ! However, I would have loved being able to have a name tag on the back, like the Liquid players have...
I'm gonna hold on this as painful as it feels, but seeing how much I've seen an CJ Entus jacket & other Korean teams go I'm not gonna undermine the price.

Uh being married doesn't mean you have to ask your wife's permission to buy a $130 jacket. Could just be your relationship

Yeah I'm just kidding .
Hm I'll have to wait before I can buy the jacket and I'm scared it will get dirty really fast when I get it. How easy is it to wash?
Does anyone know if there will be a sizing chart somewhere before this gets released? I'm in that cursed body size that is between a small and a medium =/.
Seriously? I'd support you for 60€, but I'm not going to pay freakin' 100€ for that. A piece of clothing is not worth the money, especially since I bet that the quality does not match the cost (not implying it's bad quality though).
And I bought a T-Shirt already (just to prove that I'm not saying 'blabla I'd pay 60 bucks' and thinking 'haha fuck you').
Edit: goddammit, I'll put 40 bucks aside per month and I dare you to not have any jackets in 3 months.

Exactly, Liquid should be cheaper
No, they really shouldn't.
- Less people involved in production (TL probably buys the finished product from somewhere) - Shorter supply chain (TL won't send this jacket around the world during the production process) - Having a rough estimate on how much will sell from a few years of selling tshirts etc now, so knowing the rough order quantity from TL's supplier

Production in the thousands of a product from highly specialized factories keeping costs low versus buying a finished/semi finished product with customization.
You guys have no fucking clue as to how these costs differ and anyone thinking 100€ is expensive for something like this should go look into producing their own 300 customized soft shells and report their findings. Add in the global distribution and the margin for TL and see how much cheaper you can do it. Anyways it seems likely they can sell them all anyways so if you guys thinks it's too expensive, simply don't buy it.
For reference here in DK I visited the largest online mens retailer looking for softshell with no criteria other than it being a softshell - the cheapest was 399 DKK (53.2€), around half of the TL price, but that was a Jack & Jones jacket which is produced in quantities about 150 times larger than TL. Everything else was more expensive (at least the non discounted prices). With prices typically ranging from 799 DKK to 1400 DKK

TL:DR : You guys are all cheapskates.
You do know that stores that sell clothes have up to 60-90% profit margin per cloth piece they sell?
e: Online they have little bit smaller as you don't need store for it.
After processing the post for a few minutes it's clear that the price is too high for me to pick one up on the initial run. I presume there'll be more runs similar to the SKT1 jersey?

Grovbolle put it very elaborately a few posts above yours. Please note that I don't know the details of the pricing on this item, but I would imagine that he isn't far off given what we know of the previous items sold in the TL store.

Anyways, I really want one. I am happy that you announced it ahead of time so that I could think about it without worrying about it selling out. IMO, you guys shouldn't focus so much on explaining the production costs of these, but rather should just stick to the hype around it. These are great jackets for hardcore fans. They're really stylish and cool looking. You don't need to apologize about the price point. With only 300 available, I'm sure they'll sell out soon. You were so focused on that, you forgot to talk about sizing information.
I wear a size small in your hoodie. What size jacket should I buy?
Since I talked with Bumblebee when the basic concepts were released I am almost certain they used a Danish supplier.
These are basic softshells which is what the TL ones are no doubt a modification of, using a Danish supplier which are competitive in pricing. 400 DKK for a basic softshell. Which is around 54€. Now consider the higher cost of customization and low production batch, as well as shipping and margins, honestly I expected the price around 120-130€
I would buy, but totally would want measurements first, I bought a medium t-shirt and I more halfway between small and medium, fit on a jacket would be even more important.
edit: Do you think it'd be possible to ship it to me here in the US before August 20th? I'll be leaving before the month ends and the free shipping sounds nice haha

But dont just buy this jacket to support us - buy it if you like it, if you find it awesome, if its a proruct you think you will have a lot of fun owning. Sure we will make money from selling these but more than anything I think that the jacket is a great product to just express your love for esports and the community, to show what you like while looking damn cool. We hope that we can find 300 people thinking like that and will buy the jacket cause its awesome and not just to support TL

I can't understand why so many people think it is expensive. Do you all buy complete shit from random stores instead of outdoor clothing? If the jacket is of any quality at all, it is actually cheap even without the TL customization. If anything, TL should be commended for how little it costs.
That said, I am probably not going to get one because my need for warm clothing is next to zero as I am extremely warm-blooded, but it looks really cool.
I have to have this for my eSports clothing collection lol. The price seems fair, I paid about 100 for my oGs jacket and that one certainly was of high quality materials.

Clearly an actual quality product, but just as both its build quality and price are at that level, I'd probably only buy one if I were looking for a high-quality softshell jacket in the first place.

The point is that the jacket has the same price (even more expensive) than other world renowned brands, I'm not interested in buying a jacket, but if were i would just get it from nike for $30 less. I get it, you can't really compare TL with nike and whatnot, but it still doesn't change the fact that their product is pricey when you consider the alternatives.

Well that jacket would fit perfectly to my hoodies and my Shirts, but ~100€ is way too much (not that I _can't_ afford it, but I _do no want_ to afford it)
sheesh, i think people need to stop thinking of TL as a clothing store... band t-shirts/merchandise are marked-up waaay more than the TL stuff. and those merch are usually pretty rubbish quality.
... hmm anyone knows how dirty/easy to clean those white jackets are? ... actually easier questions, how many times does TLO need to clean his? cause he can play dirrrrty when needed or perhaps Bunny after cleaning some of that cheese off after beating Sacsri? (in a good way)
I don't understand people complaining about the price. If you are going to buy a highquality brand jacket it usually goes for way more than that. Sure you can get chinese/taiwan cheap crap that doesn't keep you warm and break in a year for half that amount but thats hardly what you are supposed to compare it with.
My only worry is that its white which usually makes its actual lifespan close to that of chinese crap due to it getting dirty and ugly fast. Doesn't matter its quality if it looks crappy fast, also kind of sad of the lack of TL blue.

Yes indeed, the quality is essentially high end urban clothing so but of course this is heavily customized hence the price. And the color, there is already too much blue, if you were to match the shirts and hoodie, its too much.
About the fabric - it has a 3000/ 3000 water resistance/breathability rating if anyones curious. Also just to be clear this is not a track jacket. Its a soft shell.
The brand we used is called Nimbus - they are based in Denmark as someone already pointed out. Nimbus don't really have a distribution set in the US and they normally sell only to companies. Although some of their models can be found on amazon, here's a model thats fairly similar designwise to the one we used:
So yeah, we produced all jackets in EU and had to import 200 in the US. The price still is about the same on both stores cause naturally EU has to deal with 20% VAT.

Ladies jacket, I thought the TL jacket looked pretty, now I know why.
I'm from AZ so I'm certainly not a jacket aficionado, we rarely need more than a hoody. I did spend last summer in Norway though, which is like the most expensive place on earth and found some jackets that had way more usability, weren't female, and just as nice a quality for same price or even cheaper.
I think in the end, I'll pass. Jackets aren't in demand where I live so if I do drop some $ on a nice jacket, it's going to have to be a bit more rugged and usable.
Nice design though, I'm sure you'll sell out instantly.

Weren't those shipped from South Korea though just sold through the TL storefront?

Anyway I can't afford this considering they'll find a way to charge $30 to ship to Canada. Shame . I want one.
well i just tried to ship a hoodie to canada and it says shipping is $14. hoodie probably about the same as this jacket, so maybe $20 max for shipping?

I'm a newbie at buying online so I need some help. My chest is ~110cm around, is there a way to take that measurement and apply it to this sizing guide that only gives width? When I measure the width of my chest I get 35cm and a small jacket has a width of 55cm >.>
I'm 185cm tall so I know for sure I won't be buying a small jacket
thats fine for the generic sizing, but that doesn't mean all those sizes will be available for this TL jacket. Are they only doing S/M/L/XL? or will there be the big guy sizes of XXL/3XL/4XL?
need some love for us fatty esports fans too!
I'm not fat though, I weigh 80kg.
I remeasured myself, 95cm chest around, 53cm front.
Now I'm confused cause I had a coat tailored for me and the chest was 110cm this past winter. Humm.
edit: And that's STILL a small size on the chart.....

What the hell are you going to start selling the clothes to match the one time? Come on I want to buy when the court did not know the map overnight itneyo petrified only f5
Still nothing about the sizes? It is kinda risky to buy clothes online because sometimes M is too small or just fits perfectly and sometimes L size is perfect or it's way too big.

They give the size chart (not official) in the thread, plus TL always have a size chart for item like that in the TL store.
How do the sizes compare to the tl hoodie? I just fit the tl hoodie in L size but the sizing doesn't even make sense given the tl hoodie chart here. Is the hoodie really really large compared to this jacket? or have I done something wrong.

you have to divide by 2, so 112cm/2 = 56cm = Medium jacket.
i have a large hoodie and a large SKT T1 polo, idk if i should go Large for the jacket since the hoodie fit ok.

The jacket is fairly fitted, similar to the hoodie. You should get the same size as your hoodie.

Hey. I compared the post times between my post, written 19 hours and 30 minutes before the sale is going live, with yours.
I wrote my first at 21:30. You wrote yours at 03:12. The difference in time between those posts is 5 hours and 42 minutes.
19 hours 30 minutes - 5 hours 42 minutes = 13 hours 48 minutes You wrote your post at 8:11 PM. If you go 13 hours and 48 minutes forward in time after 8:11 PM, you end up at 9:59 AM.
So well according to my math 10 am is your hour to shine. But I guess you already went to bed and you're waking up before 9. And maybe you should check it at 9 anyway, I'm really confused by the changing timezones t.t.
If the jackets are fitted like the hoodie, which I have you should go one size larger than you typically wear. The issue for me was the arms were a bit tight, although after a few wears it will stretch a bit to accommodate. I typically wear American medium but had to go for the large, for reference I am 180cm/85kg.

So for those wondering hoodie L = 56cm (112cm/2) i took the higher value of the chest width
Jacket Medium = 57cm and Jacket Large = 60cm
So if you have a large hoodie, get a medium jacket, since 60cm seem too much, it would equal to the XL hoodie.

It's a really big investment and they have to judge interest
They can't just buy 1000000 jackets and hope they all sell
I think if TL had a Kickstarter like system before ordering the new material it would alleviate some pain of missing out a bit, except that it would ruin the hype a bit.

The orders will start shipping out on Monday, since we are using fedex international with tracking you should be able to get your jacket sometime next week. You will get another email with the tracking so you can follow the package and know when to expect it.
No order has left the processing stage left cause we need to go over the dota shirts orders, but everything will be approved tonight and you will get more updates per email, including the tracking number when the package gets shipped out (unless you ordered from EU which doesnt have tracking but the shipping is fast anyways)

Don't be so rough. Team liquid isn't Nike, they can't just order a million shirts or jackets and afford to have some lying around. At fifty euros each, which might be low? There is a 15k euro upfront cost for them with no indication that people will sbuy. That's a lot of money. They've always come back with batch two of things that people want.

This is a pretty good idea to avoid this problem in the future. It solve most of the problems: get some sense of the amount you need, some kind of downpayment to reduce the risk and create some hype (+ some extra perks). Really something to think about. Listen to Blisse!

We are not talking about a million. It does make a lot of fans missed out when the entire product (300 jackets) got sold out in 3 hours. I am pretty sure even when they produced the jacket A LOT more they won't need to worry about having them getting dust on the shelf. Of course, TL may not have expected it, so I wouldn't say it's TL's fault, but it is natural that missed out fans can vent out. Don't try to shut them down. It's sad. (I'm also a person who have been waiting for this jacket since last year but came to TL only to see it sold out)

We don't offer tracking for orders shipped from the EU store. From my experience with it and ordering stuff from Germany (used to live there) delivery usually takes about a week. Delivery time to the Netherlands should be similar. The reason why some folks in EU already got their stuff is because they live in the UK (our warehouse happens to be there) and the Royal Mail delivers stuff there pretty much instantly.
Also KBBs jacket was shipped before the official launch, owning every single item we ever offered can give you some perks.

You sure it's not being staff that gave that perk?
Staff was allowed to order 30 minutes before launch but their stuff was not shipped ahead of everyone elses orders. Is there anything wrong with VA? Our production partners are located there as well - makes the whole supply chain that much more convenient and faster.

I'm just curious because I thought liquid HQ was in NY.
My Jacket came in, located in Toronto, Canada - just need to pick it up since im at work.
They charged an extra 57$ for border charges, which i was surprised since i usually havent been charged for ordering items (like the TL shirts/hoodie) as well as ordering from Valve. (And i believe all times have been through fedex? Or maybe usps?)
lol yeah what the, i got charged $57 too for toronto shipping... that's insane
could you guys just use usps in the future instead of fedex/ups/eps? they literally max out at $5 in charges.
in total it cost $57 + $35 = $92 to receive the package, versus $0 for US addresses, which I had but didn't get a response for when they would send out :/ i don't mind but it's just annoying when you could've used usps and it would have cost under $35 for shipping. small box shipping to canada with usps is $20 :\

Haha ya~ its actually cheaper since USPS is partnered with Canada Post - So usually these import charges are reduced significantly if not eliminated completely. Lesson learned haha - Ill just ship items to a buffalo address XD.

could you guys just use usps in the future instead of fedex/ups/eps? they literally max out at $5 in charges.
in total it cost $57 + $35 = $92 to receive the package, versus $0 for US addresses, which I had but didn't get a response for when they would send out :/ i don't mind but it's just annoying when you could've used usps and it would have cost under $35 for shipping. small box shipping to canada with usps is $20 :\
Haha ya~ its actually cheaper since USPS is partnered with Canada Post - So usually these import charges are reduced significantly if not eliminated completely. Lesson learned haha - Ill just ship items to a buffalo address XD.

Haha mine shipped through USPS.
Not surprising since US was shipping free and not Canada. Dont know the reasoning behind using fedex since they used usps/canada post for all the items i ordered in the past except for the SKT T1 polo and now the jacket.

Shit got lost/delayed by more than 5 weeks with USPS before. Personally prefer good shipping service than something that we can make no guarantees with when it comes to those expensive products.

Is there any other overhead on having multiple shipping methods?
Great jacket for the fall. I posted a review on the shop page. I got a small and I'm a 5'-8" asian weighing in around 160lbs. I also wear a medium TL shirt, and it fits me very well - and the small jacket sits over that quite snug.
I just got mine and its beautiful and well crafted but my particular jacket seems to have a one inch snag near the teamliquid print. =( sent CS and email and fingers crossed they have at least one S size exchange unit.

Wow thats weird, im 5'9'', 150lbs, im skinny and i got the large jacket and hes perfect. Medium one was right on my measures, so i went for the large. I also have a medium and a large hoodie, the larger one fit me perfect too, the medium one is too small. Ive a large TL team shirt too, actually ive all TL shirts(large) lol.
Weird how this can be different from one to another. This is why you need that size chart and carefully take you measures if you dont want to be disappointed, especially when they made only 300 jackets.

Hows the jacket in person guys who were lucky to get one?
He is perfect, like everything TL does, its so soft and comfy. Im not just being a fan boy, its my honest opinion based of many items i bought from the TL store. They are slow to get stuff done, ex: the jacket, but its always of great quality.

I'm 170lb and 5'7" I got the medium and it fits fine. I think the small would have fit a little bit better on the sleeves but would have been way too tight on my chest. (I'm a fat-ass what can I say.)
Mine just arrived in Cali :D. This jacket is amazing! TNX TL! Hopefully the inventory could be replenished for all those who could not/did not get theirs due to w/e inconvenience.
Mine arrived yesterday and it is really very well made. I am 6'0" 195 and normally wear large (TL shirts, fall coats, winter coats etc). My measurements fit a large so I ordered it. The large "fits", however its just a touch more snug than I would normally buy. I think I will wear it until I can order an extra-large and then just give it to my little brother. Overall, The quality of this jacket it top notch and it really looks amazing. Well done TL!

Same exact situation here, I am around the same size and the medium TL shirt was too small, but large in both has been perfect.
So many awesome pics but sadly very few uploaded to the store review/photo page. Do us a favor if you like the jacket leave something on the jacket page it is a big help to have honest customer reviews.
Got mine a few days ago and it's awesome! The zipper being on the left side instead of the right is the only minor flaw/ weird thing for me. It fits great though ^^
Got mine today! Awesome jacket, gj TL! Already wrote a review on the store, though i only scored the jacket. Wanted to write an actual review but misclicked....
On August 12 2014 02:04 Zen5034 wrote: So it says "Wash separately" and "Do not soak".. so what is the ideal way to take care of this awesome jacket?
I assume wash separately to avoid color staining on your white jacket. So run it by itself or maybe run it with the whites. Do not soak is probably the soak option on the laundry machine. So beyond the above two, I think a standard machine was would be fine.
Alright, it's been a few days now that I have mine and I gotta say, I'm really satisfied so far ! It looks stunning, everything is super neat, clean, good quality and seems quite robust. For those who were worried about rain: I've used it in light rain for 5minutes and it did its job fine as well. Also, lots of my coworkers actually complimented me on it, even though none of them knows TL ! So yeah, great product. I'm just a bit worried about how fast I'm gonna get it dirty, but that's something to expect with a white jacket. So yeah, so far I'm really satisfied, good work TL !
Edit: after seeing Nazgul's post, I submitted my review on TL store !
Cleaning the jacket is very easy, I've washed mine already. Just wash it separately, cold wash, zip it up before putting in the washing machine and hang dry. Thats all. I pretty much followed the instructions on the label so there's really nothing to it.
I'm seriously thinking about buying that jacket. Only downside is that I'm not that sure about the size, I'd need to go Large or Medium. I'd take Medium, but what if it's too small? I have a strange body type (short legs, long upper body), so I'm not sure. Any help/recommendations from someone who already bought it?

That's good to hear. Thanks for the info man ! Does the jacket keep its "water-resistance-ness" after the washing tho ?

We won't change the manufacturer, the jacket is great and we won't change anything about it. We've already placed the order for more so as soon as more stock is available we will put the jackets on sale again.
About the question in the post above, the jacket won't lose its water resistant properties after washing in a washing machine so don't worry about it.

Thanks for the answer mate. And once again, great job with that jacket ! <3

Man I was so close to buying one when they came out but at that time I was already pretty inactive on the site and no longer followed SC2. Now seeing these sexy jackets on the LoL team really hyped e up for TL again. Hoping a new batch comes. Will 100% buy immediately.
