Hola! Um, i never thought it would come to this, but i'm asking TL.net's help at learning Spanish. You see my Spanish teacher sucks pretty bad (pretty much tells us nothing about it...just has us copy down random vocab).
I was wondering if you have any good websites with a good beginning vocabulary or any tips on how to remember vocabulary and get better a speaking it. I am having alot of trouble speaking it without thinking over every single word and translating it back and forth then making sure that is ok.
So feel free to share any tip/tricks that helped u learn a language (maybe not spanish, some tips apply generally)
Thanks in advance

Learning random vocabulary is a pretty good way to get urself going in a language however... I have a (IMHO) very good method to learn vocab, however I developed it for myself, and have yet to see how it' work for other people, but... Anyway, it's way too long and complicated for me to explain it right now, but if you think so, PM to remind me of it and I will post it back to you tomorrow (after I wake up)...

Eres un guevon. Tu profe the esta enseñando el vocabulario basico por alguna razon. Si no aprendes eso, no aprenderas español. El español se trata mucho de recordarse palabras que suenan igual pero que tienen diferente sentido. Cre que debes de poner mas atencion en clase.

Spanish, lesson 1:
Hop on a scooter, wear only shorts and a tshirt and sandals, drive really irresponsibly, don't wear a helmet (only headgear allowed are sunglasses) and honk at any girl showing a bit of legs or bosom. These are basics and you must understand all this to proceed to lesson 2.

learn some verbs, learn the tenses, learn some vocab, lots of study/memorization
the verbs and their tenses and knowing how to conjugate them is clutch.
... on a side note does anyone have any tips for learning korean? i hear its one of the easiest languages to learn and since klogon banned me i havnt had enough days to post a seperate thread, info would make me smile

Hay como un millon de verbos en el español, y mas cuando hablas con gente que ya habla el idioma y tiende a sacar verbos de donde uno no sabe.
Deberias primero, buscarte un diccionario, y luego tratar de buscar algunas paginas web que te ayuden y agilizen tu aprendizaje. Trata de buscar cosas que te interesen y que sean en español, de seguro hay bastantes sitios web relacionados con Juegos donde puedes leer sobre algo que te gusta en un idioma diferente =p.

be like XXXXXXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXDDDDDDDDD a few hours a day on bnet
all the construction workers, food workers, janitorial staff here only speak spanish and they are short :/ they are really nice though. and so hard working.
i suggest you just read some stuff in spanish and look them up as you go along. figure out which tense the verb is, how it's conjugated, etc. just read a few pages like that a day. learn proper pronounciation and that's pretty much it. after doing that for a year you can start watching spanish t.v.

Spanish is very EASY to learn. I started learning it and its coming along very good. I do not attend classes in university or anything. Just when I play poker I turn on my mp3 lessons. I have 240 lessons of 40 minutes. They explain grammar and learn you sentences along with words. I also have a small guide that has to be used with the audio tapes every now and then. If you want to have it add me on msn, pm me for that.
What I find very useful is having ToT)Manza( and Bishop aka k3fka on my msn;) Oh and mazor helped out once;D
