For those of you who don't know about Armin Van Buuren, he is a Dutch trance producer and DJ. In the late 2000's, he was voted #1 DJ by DJ Mag - the only person to win it 4 times in a row. He constantly makes amazing trance tracks with some great singers and other artists.
Sorry that on some of these, embedding is disabled, but they're still good songs!
Now, about this "550 thing".... He does a weekly show called A State of Trance where for 2 hours (on about 30 radio stations - one of them being www.di.fm) he plays the latest and best in trance and progressive. Now, since it's a weekly thing, episode 550 means it's been near 11 years, which is why he's making a huge celebration for it...
SO! With all that said, MAY THE SHOWS GO ON!

I'll definitely be tuning in to the stream and listening for potential interesting tracks. TATW 400 was fun to listen to and this will surely be great as well.
I'm still listening to number 500 sometimes, shit was epic. Can't wait for this one.
I have to go for the 600th !! I really wanted to go to den bosch as it's not so far from where i live but the good tickets were all soldout :/ Damn you Armin for being so good ..
Def will be listening to this one. ASOT 500 was the first one i listened to and it was nothing short of awesome. Will def try to listen to this one. STOKED!
I just started to discover trance music for myself and gotta say this van buuren is pretty apt at what he does. I really like it. Having listened to some other ASOT stuff I think this will be so awsome
I'd really like to try this. But Buuren strikes me as being all too similar to Tiesto, in that it's no longer about the music but more about the cult of DJ-worship. Perhaps someone can placate me?

i know man. such a bitch that i couldn't get off work to in watch. the chances of him coming back here any time soon are pretty slim. i had the same shit with she deadmau5 concert.
and now, with my wonderful luck, Im on training so i can't even listen to 550 live. fml -_-

oh a fan of David Guetta :D
I hate to say it, but for me David Guetta is synonymous with AVB and Tiesto. Commercial sell outs. Of course the one thing they have on Guetta is that they used to be good many years ago.
These are all the sets, cut into individual tracks. Note: Track #8 of Tom Fall's set - Sweet Quasar (Tom Fall Mashup) has about 1 minute of repeating audio glitch.
Eww, I the dedicated stream going after the event, and they just replayed it (in fact, they might still be replaying it for all I know), and I heard the Tom Fall audio glitch again ... was all =( when I realized it wasn't a live-streamed issue, but a recorded issue.

AvB is closer to David Guetta than you think. He has become so commercial that I see little difference between him and Guetta. I follow trance for years and I miss AvB pre 2006/2007 before he started sliding into pop-trance.
And actually David Guetta used to be decent before he started producing his commercial stuff. But who had heard about him in 2004/2005? Only a bunch of trance/house fans. Same happened with Armin van Buuren and Tiesto. They all were heroes of trance. Now, not so much... Though they are more popular than ever...
I can't help but feel bitter about it. See my favorite DJs all playing popish tracks and moving further and further from their roots really makes me feel sad.
Saying that, I will probably check out these sets just to see if there is maybe a track or two that I might like.

I have to say I was surprised how good Armin's set was imo, and Solarstone to me had by far the best set. Almost as good as the set I saw live a couple weeks ago.
Oh my god, Thursday blew my mind. My first time seeing Armin and he did not disappoint one bit. Solarstone was amazing, very euphoric but also energetic. Very nice finish to a sick, sick night.

Goddamn is Den Bosch stacked with DJ's, to bad armin wont go out of his crew to get some other big time DJs from netherlands and sweden. (I <3 my house crowd!)

I didn't think I could love AvB anymore than I already do, but he really chooses to be an extra special badass every year. Thanks for the fancy pantsy thread Keitzer.
PS. Much love for pheer for making the song compilation for ASOT 500. <3
Anyone know if the State of Yellow sets from Moscow were broadcast anywhere? Or is he going to be playing them on State of Sundays like he did with ASOT 500. The lineup for that area was mint.
Bah, I'm quite liking it, it's so "fresh" coming out of all the trance, she's the first one to play her set, and people are just starting, so no biggie I guess .
I always hate it when people says stuff like "This isn't a state of house" when talking about just really proggy trance/prog house.
But to be honest, even I was took by surprise by this set, it's cool to include other genres and to cross some lines, but you must still consider who your crowd is, and as much as I like dubstep/moombahcore/electrohouse, this was a little bit out of place to play an entire set with little to no trance on ASOT.
That said, I am thourougly enjoying the music tonight! Have a good one you guys.

Just started to tune in, which set was all non-trance? Right now it is pretty premium
I've like most of the set so far. Missed Fei-Fei and Shogun. Disappointed in what I've heard about fei-fei's set, as I've been wanting to see her for a while, since she's from LA and been in a scene for quite sometime now. Not really feeling Gareth's set too much, as it's just all over the place imo. Hoping Armin brings it hard to wrap things up. Overall I'd say this has been the worst stop so far, even though I really wanted to be there, if I wasn't house sitting and visiting my parents.
Man, this set is absolutely awesome to ladder to. I've only managed to catch Shogun, a bit of Gareth and now Armin's sets, but they're each really killing it. I can only imagine what this is like live.

AvB - Serenity (mixed with 550 Senta?) and Use Somebody dropped by Shogun damn. People singing: You know that I could use somebooodyy, someone like you! Good tracks
Gah! I can't believe I've missed half of this already. I thought ASOT 550 wouldn't be for a few more weeks. At least I found this before the 25th, which looks like it will be an amazing day.

Was at the LA live event. Weather was absolutely terrible, cold and rainy, but the music more than made up for it. Aly & Fila and Arty really impressed.

Hey I was there too! The weather definitely sucked, but at least ASOT was great.
Ah, I certainly hope Space cranks their sound system up for Markus the way Avalon did for the LA '12 release party. You're definitely in for a special treat. Those two nights at Avalon were some of my best nights of my life, especially the solo set 10:30 hours he did.
Fei-Fei's set was mostly D&B so the guy that puts these split tracks together didn't include it.
Speaking of, the quality of the file splitting is sub-par in the first couple sets of the LA release. I think he was on drugs when he did it. If I ever find a better copy, I will replace it.
I keep hearing about ultra around me... I need to shut my ears... I can't go! Too damn expensive :D

well... that's pretty stupid...
I liked fei-fei's set to some degree (even though it wasn't trance)... and i wouldn't mind having it in my collection.
so if she really wanted to do a heavy D&B set, she could've taken it somewhere else. The whole ASOT being a A State of Trance, and not "A State of (anything other than Trance)" is somewhat plausible, considering the expectation of the crowd that's there is to be able to enjoy the genre of music they want to listen and dance to.

Also :DD If anything, it was dubstep, what she played had nothing to do with d'n'b I enjoyed some of her stuff, but I can understand why some people were upset
My second time attempting to sit through ASOT and Tritonal just blew my away. Thank you guys for bumping the thread because I would've missed out on something so great if it wasn't for seeing this thread again.

Thanks. Can you include the one in the torrent the whole 4.1GB, I just don't like using torrent. If you can't no worries. Again. Thanks a lot ... (cranking my speakers up!)
@ around 6:00... they go to shots of the crowd with lyrics on the screen.... AND THEY AREN'T EVEN SINGING ALONG!
It seems as if the Miami one was the most boring in terms of dedicated fans since it was part of another event... =(
Well that was the main stage and not the ASOT one so the people weren't exclusively trance fans. Before Armin they were listening to David Guetta. The people on ASOT stage were singing along all the time from what I heard on the stream
only dumb teenies go to ultra now it honestly wasen't as great as past years, smaller venue, over crowded couldn't even walk all the true fans and grownups just go to the pool parties or after shows

Really? It's been a while since I've liked one of Jochen's sets. I heard him live at the LA '12 release party and was very unimpressed with what he spun.
This has just been so amazing. I am always on the hunt for good music to game to and I can comfortably say I have no need to search any more. Always great gaming music on any one of the channels, never stops, no ads. There is nothing more I could ask for. Thank you!

All packaged for your enjoyment at just under 3GB! ASOT 550 has provided me with enough music to last all the way until next year! No way I can keep up with all this LOL
Keep this thread alive with your favorite tracks so anyone stumbling in can enjoy it all too!
I will try to keep the download links in the OP active as long as I can.

ASOT 1000 hit recently, is anyone around and still big fans of trance/the radio show? 2017 was one of my favorite years for Trance and coincides with his new studio (ASOT 800). For those who have fallen in love with trance streams:
