And in return, Robben must be one of the happiest transfers in the world right now. :p

Heh, Real can't be too happy; they sold Robben and Sneijder, and they are now both among the best players of the two teams that are in the CL finals. :D Just buying big names doesn't always pay off.

this shows the flaw of the spanish league more than anything.. once again, when an actually competent team tries to turtle vs barcelona, they're not able to do much. definitely a well deserved victory for inter.
you really can't blame inter for turtling when they get a retarded red card anyway.. and referee mistakes evened out quite nicely over the series.
also cool to see a final between non-english non spanish teams, as those two leagues have been quite dominant for the past 3 seasons.

UK was a joke. cuz u didn't give any reasons why you find CL is a letdown.
What do you propose to make the CL format more attractive and fair ? change the 2-stage knockout into an 1-stage knockout on neutral ground ?
I don't think that the problem is the 2-stage knockout format or defensive play in general, defensive play is just a tactical element for a team to adjust for their opponents. People blame defensive play or "turtling" for their teams losses, but actually defensive play is far less successful when you think about the recent history of football. Barcelona, Man U, Milan, Liverpool to name the most recent winners all won their CL campaign with fine football. The loss of Barcelona today was not because of Inter destroying the game, it was the inability of Barcelona to attack. Like i posted above, Barcelona was bad imo, because they were too one-dimensional in attacking. Usually when you need 2 goals to score and have 1 player more on the field for more than 60 minutes, 2 goals are very possible considering your opponent can just turtle. But i can assure you FCB vs Inter part 5 will be entertaining

also robben would be considered just as good as say, cronaldo if he wasnt injured so much.
he's actually only 26 though, even if he looked like a 30 year old 5 years ago. so if he stays uninjured for another couple years, then we prolly haven't seen the best of him.

also CL doesn't need any alterations to make the best teams always get to the finals.. rather people just need to accept that sometimes the best team doesn't win, and realize that this is part of why football is so exciting.

And the best team this season was definately not FC Barcelona. They were last year but this year Inter Mailand and FC Bayern are more successfull as both can still win the treble.
And I like it how no team could have defended their CL title since the introduction of this format.

naw barcelona is still the best team this season even if they deservedly lose two games to inter.
well inter is a strong candidate too.

Yeah EPL was the most dominant league by far. 3 EPL teams in the semis is just O.O imba ! nerf plz.

also cool to see a final between non-english non spanish teams, as those two leagues have been quite dominant for the past 3 seasons. Yeah I agree, Barce does have a little bit of Arsenal-syndrome. For me they don't try anywhere near enough crosses. Yes their fast flowing style is fantastic when the opponent is pushing forward and you can exploit weakness, but when they sit back and defend well; playing through the middle is almost impossible. PlanB is play it wide and just whip the ball in.
Ofc Inter can't be blamed for turtling as you said, they did absolutely the right thing to win the tie. But that's exactly the problem, the right thing to win in the CL is often to sit back, defend and time waste.
I don't really see how it's good that it's a non-decent team final. Whatever you might say this final will be far less watched than last years. This CL has been a real let-down. We only really got one glamour tie in Ars-Barce and with Real out so soon we missed out on some possibly classic matches.

ok, true, last 3 seasons have basically been epl+barcelona neither epl nor barcelona making the finals this year is good for the tournament.

LOL ok the UK thing was a joke but in your post I can see you are biased for Ars/EPL .... wtf Ars-Barc a glamour tie ??? Arsenal are as good as .... well ... a team that haw never won a CL title before and are not considered top-favorites for CL.
I've said many times, maybe even in this thread why I don't like the current CL. Since you have a low post count maybe you should think before assuming hmm?
May be YOU should think before you speak. You don't even know if you've stated your comment on CL in this thread or not and then referring to my low post count as an indicator of what ??? You really should think before you write, you aren't better because you have more post counts. Beside that this Thread is an ongoing discussion, you can not expect people to read 158 pages to find your statements... Next time please write clearly what you mean and refer to it. But as yourself have said it, you don't even know if you've stated if in this thread or not....
But back to football:
Bayern vs Inter are as good as Manchester United vs Barcelona

You're just derailing the thread, get over yourself.

Viewing figures will surely disagree with that.

But inter vs Bayern will certainly be a great game.
Let's see how Mourinho will stop robben from dominating the world

I'm happy with Bayern vs Inter and many football fans too. UEFA CL will not die because of Inter vs Bayern
