I am really looking forward to playing this game with friends, I doubt it is going be hard but it is probably going to be awesome to play through as coop games are rather rare and it looks great. I am probably going to be a monk because I find that them far cooler than the rest of the classes.

As long as the Wizard plays somewhat like a Sorcy I'll be happy with d3.

Really disappointed that they're treating pvp as kind of a secondary feature. It should be one of the main focuses of the game
PVP is one of the biggest reasons i want to play the game :\

If you've seen what they did to WoW with pvp, I assure you that you don't.

I don't think that PvP was ever a main focus of the Diablo series.
I'm happy that they are taking it as a second feature. WoW was wrecked that same way, by focusing on both PvP and PvE and then failing at both. Blizzard can't do PvP, don't hope for it.

Diablo is not a competitive PvP game... not diablo 1, not diablo 2, and most likely not even diablo 3, although it's more possible depending on what they do now and in the future
In a game where 1 set of abilities can flat-out hard counter another set of abilities, and where the time spent farming certain items or experience beats out over other things, you're not going to have good competitive play. PvP in Diablo 2 sucked, and I'm sure they are improving it substantially in diablo 3. It would be nice if they made the game have an option to play like guild wars, but I think that's extremely unlikely (and GW2 will likely come out similar time as D3, so just get that).
With regards to classes, I think they all have pretty nice draw to me, except the witch doctor. I think the witch doctor is a cool character in RP and appearance and stuff, but I absolutely hate any class that runs around with any summons or other no-skill BS like D2's Blessed Hammer ability. That said, I think I will be choosing the monk even though other classes seem pretty nice.

Hardcore is no longer hardcore, you can use real money to rez your dead hardcore character, oh by the way arena in hardcore, is literally hardcore, Real man plays hardcore and don't rez with real money!

What the fuck?
Really?
That's such bullshit what the fuck was Blizzard thinking.

As long as they dont take that many ressources from the dev team to focus on "pvp" im fine with them making it a bonus mini-game for those who want to compete in it. I'll get my nerd thrills by playing HC and playing SOLO.

What the hell do you mean it's year 2011?
What the initial 60 dollars I pay for the game isn't enough anymore? That's horseshit. Orange Box didn't charge me anything extra after I bought it and those were REALLY REALLY GOOD GAMES. Then again that's Valve...so yea... They haven't totally sold themselves to Kodick yet.
It wasn't about PAYING to res in hardcore that I'm annoyed at it's the fact that you can res at all in hardcore. That completely defeats the purpose.

PvP is the reason that Diablo II is still so strong today.
|
Hardcore PvP is the reason Diablo2 is any fun. D3 hardcore pvp means E-penis is linked to real money now, which means ppl have to put the money where their mouth is!
|
The people saying that you can pay money to rez yourself, is there any link or news thing that says so?

Paying to bring back a fallen hardcore character was something I read someone here post once, and I simply repeated it to say I thought it was an interesting idea. I’m not a designer. Things I find interesting doesn’t mean they’re being implemented. I have though heard Jay (who is lead designer) say that paying to bring back hardcore is pretty much a horrible idea.

I was never that big into hardcore before but I really want to try it for d3.
