That's comparing apples and oranges. The console versions of Baldur's Gate were complete offshoots from the original game(s), which wer computerified RPG versions of a classic pen & paper AD&D story. The console versions were a more arcadey, hack & slash, diablo-esque cash-in. Diablo is already an arcadey, hack & slashfest, so the console port would end up being very similar.

for me : i am definetly going to check all classes for sure, but monk is likely be #1 , because of his unique style and handsomeness

I'll prolly start off with a witch doc. Summoners seem to be the easiest class to learn the ropes with.
I also fully expect the monk to be the least played class, and the wizard the most played.
I'll probably main as a witch doc also if there wont be any "Baal runs" or magic find.

Probably going to start with a Witch Doctor. I am going to play i casually with some friends and just like to goof around. From the stuff that I have seen so far, with the Witch Doctor you can do the most fun stuff (Giant frogs anyone?).
Other than that I am going to play a melee character for the more "Hardcore" play. What melee class that is going to be I don't know yet. Going to try them all out eventually.

Picked barbarian, because that was my main class in Diablo 2 and from what I've heard it's actually the same character from that game. So I just won't be able to resist picking him. After that, I'm playing a monk without a question. Can't wait!
