My friends who also played DotA switched over to HoN because less lag and the fact you can reconnect if you crash/d.c. | ||

They're doing it because they're noob developers that can't afford mainstream advertising or distribution, so they're relying on word of mouth and pre-orders. Seems to be working pretty well for them. Open beta probably won't last anywhere near as long as closed beta did, but I heard one of the developers say they were planning on letting it stay in open beta longer if their user base continued to grow at a good pace. I.e. if sign ups slow down they'll assume the "word of mouth" has run its course and they'll pull the trigger on charging people for the game. Seems smart to me. | ||
