i think the july 3 remaster announcement is not likely because they'll have just finished sc1 remaster, i cant see them announcing something officially unless they have a lot of the game done already.

Watch the interview with the classic team. BW was an absolute nightmare to remaster. Tons and tons of stuff was basically hard coded and a lot of the things like libraries and whatnot just didn't exist. There were also resources they straight up could not find. They had to rebuild a lot of the game. From what they described, it couldn't possibly get any harder than BW. WC3 would likely be significantly easier to patch.
maybe not harder, but there's still going to be a lot to do since wc3 is a much larger game. Thats what the classic team guy said, (not verbatim) "keep in mind that brood war was the smallest game with the least amount of assets"
probably a lot less headache, but its still going to be a lot of work

I do think that they will allocate more people to the classic team, when Starcraft Remastered is sealed and polished. If they plan to put the wc3 into Battle.net 2.0, they have to add more people with it.
I think if Starcraft Remastered becomes a succes, it is going to happen and they will allocate more people to it.

The built in codecs required to play the movie files don't work in later Windows versions. It seems the instructions in the link above fixes it or just tells you to play the movies outside of the game if you want quick and dirty.

The reality is that no one outside of their team knows how easy/hard a WC3 remaster will be to complete. It's like the cardinal rule of development. Speculation is fun but any conclusion other than "I have no idea how long this is going to take" is fundamentally flawed.

I don't know why people wants so bad a remaster of WC3, the graphics still look good enough to me and the game runs on every computer, so we are good, no?

I think Blizzard has a beautiful goal of modernizing their games and being able to regularly add new shit to even the oldest of games. It is a really cool way for them to continue to build their brand as being the hands down most game-loyal company in the world.
When someone considers if they should play overwatch or call of duty, all their friend needs to say is "they just released a patch for a game released 15 years ago" and suddenly this person knows it is a very worthwhile purchase.
Its also just a great product. Look at Nintendo and their e-shop. Hell, look at all e-shops. How many people here have bought games they could play right now on their old systems, on a new system? People like to have all their old games on a new platform and they will pay money to have it. I would gladly repurchase WC3/BW to have it on my Bnet account.
Both WC3 and BW have enormous nostalgia value. All of us who grew up with WC3 and BW have our post-college jobs and have tons of money to blow on useless shit.

Yeah, I've got my classic stuff on another email address that I didn't want to be giving out to other people. My current Bnet account with OW, WoW, SC2, D3 and HS is a standalone email account that I exclusively use for Bnet. And while I would not rebuy BW or WC3 for the sake of having them on the same account, I WOULD if it was some kinda remake or remaster. I intend to re-buy BW when remastered comes out.

So last night I finally tried playing a bnet tournament , I used to all the time on EU server back home , but this is my first time since I moved to USA , and the SALT IS AMAZING ! these are the 2 most hilarious things that happened , from my perspective of course.......Im used to being called alot of things on bnet....noob , fag , ni**er , trash.....but a whore isnt one of them XD XD XD , and I love it when someone brags about their rank.....then rage quits when I trash them XD , honestly in my 14+ years of playing on EU I have never seen these 2 cases.
Btw Im sure you all see some lovely BM if you play on bnet , post some screenshots !!!
