And yeah, I've spend 1800 fuse (And atleast 1k scraps.) for a 6L before, and another time I spent 100. RNG is RNG, but don't bitch him out because he's sad. :/

i have died to desync kole before but as long as u press /oos in intervals when u sense something amiss theres no way u can die to vaal smash which has like such a long animation. /oos is your friend

Shit happens, sometimes you play with foreign ping, sometimes you desynch, sometimes you use your /oos cooldown when he starts walking and you don't have it when he re-appears. I've even seen people have a long loading time back into town to refill potions and die because of it. they just durr stand there and doublestrike/multistrike and only maybe /oos occasionally, what do u expect? standing at near/melee range vaal will then be likely to use vaal smash. personally i play mostly ranged chars and i always laugh at how easy vaal is, constantly strafe around at long range and vaal itself will not be able to touch u with any of his moves other than his minions

Havent died on vaal since i first learned he had the same range as EK without proj speed, ages ago. Wonder what hardcore build will be the first to try the new end area, or how many rips we will see from the new vaal bosses To the guy above me, i think vaal is way easier as melee, you just circle him until he commits an action, then attack, smash looks scary until you cycle around him... Less rocks seems like.

Less rocks seems like. the trouble is that if you are in a desync state at melee range AND he start to use vaal smash then you wont see it coming if you dont/cant use /oos and next thing u are dead. at least if you are at desync state at range from vaal the worst is suffering 1-2 lightning shots. however there are easy ways to circumvent this. decoy totem for instance, even if u are desync he will use the vaal smash on the totem instead of u

You can always see a Vaal Smash coming. I can't count how many times I killed Vaal as meele in merci. I did that even on onslaught and hell ... onslaught Vaal was a different beast. (Still remember my mate reeping on map by onslaught onslaught vaal ^^) You should never just stand and rightclick, you should always move a bit, change position and just watch his animations. If no animation is happening; run. If he surfs after you or still doesn't do shit you better hit /oos. And I can only agree with Variance, scariest part about Vaal is being squishy and get hit by laser into rocks. TLDR, this: On March 02 2014 12:21 TheTenthDoc wrote: I feel sorry for anyone that didn't start in Onslaught. To this day, every time I fight Vaal it feels like he has permanent temp chains on him. I just want the patch notes :c I think Vaal is a lot easier than Brutus, lol. At Brutus I use Decoy Totem behind him 2 times (marauder). At Vaal I don't need that. Just run a bit around in his back using heavy strike until he is dead. Dunno, I never had a problem with desync at Vaal when soloing him. It's more of problem with a party because you don't know if he is in sync when he smashes/lasers and you might get hit by one of these that were aimed at a friend of yours.

Even as range ST he attack so fast that I dont have time to hit and dodge 1 of his hook and inevitably take damage every I want to hit him. Can't even sure how Mara do him. Decoy totem doesnt help much since he switch to us right when we hit him. I don't like Turboraces either. But if I participate I go for the life route in the tree, which is really suboptimal but better than dying and make sure I got a leather belt and two coral rings + strapped leather and Decoy Totem. I think in turbo it's important to go for evasion over armor against brutus while in normal it's just a slight bonus.

for turbo brutus just stack evasion (armor is useless against his smash) and throw fire/bear trap while run in a circle around pillars
