I know some people farm ledge on merciless to level 60 to be safe. edit - Those two areas you mentioned are much harder than the main areas, especially in merciless. I usually leave them till I've nearly finished the act, or even after. At least till you overlevel them anyway. For Kuduku, if you don't have the resists to fight him (on other chars I like to use skills that I can fire from a screen away or hit'n'run (like bear/fire traps or ice spear) and just take it down safely from range. Otherwise you can just Quicksilver past and ignore it completely. | ||

The Koduko totem is suppose to be really hard to solo if you don't have lightning resist and don't have a skill that can offscreen it. I have a similar character And I never had any issues leveling outside of being scared of the oneshot from Merciless brutus / Merciless Vaal. And without knowing any of your character stats I'd assume that you should probably replace tempest shield. The 4% block is decent, but purity aura is really amazing. Not only is the extra couple of max resist really good, but it also makes you much more flexible with gear. Also tempest shield is considered a buff, not an aura so you have to re-apply it every single time you enter an instance, which gets tedious after a while. I also use cleave / double strike. At lvl 58 you can start using corsair swords (gemstone swords are good too, which are lvl 56). Maybe try trade chat if you can't find one. Iirc I remember I gave 3 chaos for a 190ish dps 1hander that had some extra cold dmg, which pushed it into 230ish dps. Which made me kill stuff in Merci fellshrine in 1-2 seconds per packs. | ||

Seriously, try duelist it will boost you up there very quickly. I already have a strategy for the 24m race, I'll just go templar and ice nova everything. Best way to level early on. easy points. | ||

Although overall ranger seems like a really solid class, and I don't mind missing out on a few points as I don't really use the rewards anyways, since the characters I'm playing are all on onslaught. T_T | ||

T_T Yeah statistically speaking, in Descent ranger is the second best class. Duelist is by far the best class in any race that is less than 2h long. I would also argue that Duelist is the easiest class to play, I can do better with duelist than with ranger even though I play ranger almost every race, not only that I usually place somewhere in the top 3 for ranger and still beat that with duelist in the same type of race. Witch, in my opinion, is by far the hardest class in descent, I did 1 descent race with witch and placed somewhere in the top 8 for witch at lvl 17 or so. Which is kind of hilarious, but it's really hard and frustrating, so I wouldn't ever recommend witch if you want to play descent races, just not very fun and extremely gear dependant. Templar I feel is in a good place right now, I know Kripp wants cleave in chests for templar's in descent which I think is absurd. They get ice nova early on which clears low level zones much faster than even cleave, if they got cleave at say lvl 7 or 9, they would be destroying absolutely any other class even duelists. | ||
