I remember a bug I had a few months ago when I started playing PoE, in normal act 2 when you trigger the darkness by knowcking off the big ball, the minimap stopped working. Tab wouldn't show the damn map, and I was impressed! My first thought was something like "Damn, the developers finally made a game with no hand holding!" Had to find the pyramid and reach Vaal with no minimap what so ever, toughest feat I ever achieved in action RPGs.

Still warms my heart how much I didn't know.

I honestly lol when I read that sporker is the safest. Not sure where those who claim that actually live and when they play but I get huge lag spikes during PoE (and only there), up to 850ms. After that there's usually a guy next to me, chopping my head off.

In other news, I died thrice today.

You're supposed to dodge the ground slam attack. Dodging rocks is a bit hard, but everything else in the fight is avoidable. Learn the pattern and overcome.

Joined a random for the first time today, trying to speed up my merciless dock lvl farming. The builds seemed so much stronger then me, not sure if it's the gear or what. I play a frenzy / LA ranger, and the two discharge dudes just shit on the whole screen full of mobs. There was also a witch with dual GMP ice spear build... Guess there's a reason why FotM builds are actually used, they are freakin' strong.

Haha, not gonna deny it. But the power level wasn't even close, people one shotting full screen worth of mobs with discharge while I have to spend good 5-10 seconds on aoe packs and much longer on bosses.

Maybe their gear was just so much better than yours.

On a side note, what's Geofri's Crest worth? I have a hard time determining the price for uniques unless I find elite uniques. http://poe.xyz.is/ also only shows threads where people don't specify a BO. T_T

That happens with spells, and discharge most of all. You have to get kinda close to use it, and it scales with levels instead of gear, so with a +2 wand/staff it deals obscene damage for your level, which makes farming easy content mostly trivial. Until you get your hands on a GG bow, your damage will always be lacking, even though your survivability is already much higher.

Lightning is bad for your health. More lightning is even worse.

You see that arm with the big ball going up? Well it's gonna come back down pretty soon, and you don't want to be there when it does.

if u want to progress into maps and beyond, should do CI. If you just want to farm docks/lunaris, RF is better because you can use wondertrap.

RF/lowlife isn't viable in maps (imo) without shavronne's, which is obscenely expensive.

Is Chaos a safe currency to invest in, or should I just be trying to hoard as many exalts as possible? I wasn't around for the default leagues to develop so I'm not sure how the economy will flow. AFAIK gcps will go down in value and exalts will go up, but relatively will chaos be ok?

chaos is the baseline currency, but i'd still recommend getting your cash into exalt form if you can. early game things like alchs will fall off (people will have the base rares they need), while things like exalts/fusings/divines (stuff that makes the PERFECT gear) will increase in value. i'm in the process of converting most of my currency so i have 23 divines + 2 exalts in the onslaught stash right now; hopefully it pays out in the long run. exalts already went from 16 to 24 chaos, so if you have the money, i'd buy now.

also, the onslaught stuff gets moved to hardcore at the end anyways, where it's over 30 chaos to 1 exalt.
