There are a few people on there that have played, so they could tell you how to connect better. The game type rotates I believe, so I couldn't tell you where you look for it in the list :/

Come on TL, idle in #tlfps and get these servers populated. There's a bot in there that tells you which servers have people on them, type !info players or !info (game).
Serejai has done such a great job with all of these servers, its a shame to see such little interest

I'm actually quite interested, but since I'm a poor nub the only FPS games I have are either cracked (MW1, etc.) or free (Urban Terror) ... really waiting for the Urban Terror server lol

I have created a Steam group specifically for these servers (I'm aware there is already a general TL.Net Steam group, but a) I have been unable to get in contact with any of the admins of it, and b) I felt that spamming non-fps players with announcements about the servers would probably suck for them).

Ports have changed for nearly all of the servers to better organize them for internal reasons. HL1 servers start at 27020, and Source servers start at 27030. Please update your favorites accordingly.
Also, for those who haven't done so already please join the steam group linked above. This will help supplement the IRC channel for finding matches, and I will also be hosting tourneys shortly which will be announced via the group.
Lastly, I apologize for the delay in getting Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Project Reality, Natural Selection 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Urban Terror servers up. Something came up and I have to go out of town for about a week, so I've been busy packing and trying to fix a few issues that arose. I'll still try my best to get a couple more servers up before I leave tomorrow, but the NS2 server is a complete pain in the ass, and I still haven't received a license for Project Reality.
Also, I believe Mino has our IRC bot working to it's full extent now. You can check how many players are in each server, what map is currently being used, and etc.
Additionally, if anyone would like to volunteer to help out in any way, it would be much appreciated. I could use everything from maps and settings to server administrators, advertisement to other FPS communities (so we can get some more matches going!), criticism, advice, etc. I could also use help from anyone experienced with running WINE on a CentOS5 system, as I've been trying to set up an NS2 server and a Diablo 2 realm with little success (both are windows-only).
Mino will be in charge of this while I'm gone, though I will try to find internet access whenever possible. If you have any suggestions or questions just bug him on IRC. I will check my PMs daily, too, so I can be contacted that way. Will try to work on the servers some while I'm gone as well.

Big update coming tomorrow before I leave. Halo, Urban Terror, and Battlefield 2 servers. Possibly Natural Selection 2 as well. Project Reality if they send me a license in time.

For Urban Terror, it's probably a good idea to set the cyclemap and nextmap votes on, but I don't know the console commands for that.

So, Urban Terror server is up and running on liquid.stasysgaming.com:27960 with pretty much a default config, so any suggestions on what maps to put in the mapcycle is appreciated. I personally hadn't even heard of it, but looking at some videos, it looks like a lot of fun. I'm dying to try it, but don't really have the time to play atm. Will definitely try to get some games going once I can.

I might be able to help getting the Halo CE server set up btw, though i would have to relearn a lot of things.

We have a steam group and irc channel, both of which you should join. We don't really have pubs using the servers yet, so they're empty until people get matches going. It's fairly easy to get a game via IRC/steam, though. Had some nice 4v4s going the other day.

Ok I'll check it out after I get back from class, might have to wait until after Thanksgiving break though. Whats the overall skill in the CS group? Any cal experience?
