Is this confirmed or how you think it will/should be? Bind-on-equip items would be a way to combat item inflation by removing those items from the economy.
2) I'm pretty sure that salvaging certain items is the only way to get certain materials. That would make sense anyways.
Perhaps, but that only adds one additional step: the items you craft with these rare materials would then be the most powerful items; so powerful and valuable that nobody salvages them and they stay in the trading economy forever.

It was announced awhile back that there will be no BoE's or BoP's, with a few exceptions.
Jay Wilson: I’m happy to announce that we recently decided there will be no binding of items in Diablo III. They will be freely traded for the life of the item. The only way we are going to do any kind of binding would be for things that are not progression-sensitive. Like we might say…a quest item. We don’t want you to be able to give to other player to short circuit a quest, but if you find a sword, piece of armor, or gem….anything that you find in the ground, once you pick it up, you can freely trade it…forever.

Yeah same here, I think ladder resets were a really good thing about d2. They're the thing that kept me coming back after the game's been out for 10 years, right after the ladder reset start all over again with everybody in noob mode :-)
Does this mean we are getting closer to Beta and some people are already in?! WHO KNOWS!
ps. i love hyping.
e:
The Beta is currently not yet underway, even though these forums are now live. That in mind, Beta invites have not yet been sent out. t appears that an ex-Blizzard employee has leaked some beta footage and screenshots. Yes, these are legit. No, Beta has not yet started.
Anyone know about the quest selection shown in those screen shots? On the surface it seems to be a way to back track to play with your friends, which would be good. I'm just wondering how deeply involved it is. I hadn't heard anything about this other than they were looking for a way for people to play together more easily if some had progressed further. Guess we'll see when beta rolls around, unless there is a morsel of information out there I'm not aware of.
Since the loot is private i dont see why they cant allow players who completed the quest and gained the reward to replay them with friends. In D2 you would ask friends to help you with your forge quest or kill baal for the first time since when you would do taht in pub someone would snatch your reward
<3 That, the morrowind theme and the terran music in Starcraft 1 are my three favorite game songtrack songs.
There are a lot of good music pieces in gaming industries, many can hold their own even vs film music industry. FF, starcraft 1/warcraft2, some c&c, quake (NIN), medieval total war etc
but this one is kinda unique even when considered whole
btw anyone hears James Bond theme from around 5:50 i always wondered for years if that was intentional or is it me
