Lakers are so ridiculously imba. Nerf Kobe damage, reduce model size for Gasol, Odom, and Artest...

Yeah he was really sucking it up at the end, it was like he was tired and not really caring. Just playing sloppy over all. But Kobe did this one for the Lakers once again, although with a decent amount of help especially from Gasol. If the Lakers keep playing at this level I don't think the Celtics can compare. Do you guys think this win was the Lakers just dominating or the Celtics not playing at there highest level? A little of both perhaps. I actually never felt like the Lakers dominated the game. It seemed more like as bad as Boston was playing they were about to pull of a sloppy win and ride momentum and then someone would make a retarded play. It doesn't help that Tony Allen makes WEIRD decisions on when to dunk and when to try a lay up. On a fast break instead of dunking over Kobe (twice) he tried a lay up and missed. In a half court set he gets a dish for an open J, drives into the lane against Odom/Gasol/Bynum drawing a charge and looking up set about it. This is one of those "2 or 3 possessions" screwed up the momentum they had building games. It wasn't an epic meltdown or a game where I felt like Boston had 0 chance of winning at any point though. I'm fully confident they can close LA out in 6 or even rattle off 4 wins in a row on them.

Wait so you think KG's legs are wearing out (Pierce's life is made much harder by Artest) and you think Celtics will take Game 2 in LA & win 3 straight in Boston? That is NOT happening I can guarantee you lol

hey, somebody told me Cleveland would rape Boston. Same thing for Orlando. I'm not worried at all

I guess I missed the part where Kobe Bryant got 8 offensive rebounds (many of which were putbacks), blocked Ray Allen, came over to stuff Rondo's penetrations, kept making KG make contested jumpshots, held KG to 4 rebounds, and is one of the main reasons why people are afraid of the Laker's length.

oh man you shouldn't have gone out, you also missed the part where kobe scored 13 in the 3rd to put them up by 20 points, denied tony allen's lay up and all the while saving it from going out of bounds and also serving ray allen his 4th and 5th foul sending him to the bench.
but of course it was the team that won. big props to artest for knocking down the 3's

kobe fouled allen on that "denial" so whatever lol still, hopefully ray allen doesn't get in foul trouble again, they really need his scoring in this series

Sure, if you're going to call that then you might as well call every thing that involves a player going to the rim. If it was on a jump shot sure, I can buy that, but not on a pointblank lay up.

he touched his fingers after the release and after he hit the ball. wow big foul.

a foul is a foul whether or not they call it is a different story, but how is that NOT a foul

The ball slipped out of Allen's hands and then Kobe blocked it away... there is NO WAY that Allen was going to finish on that play. Your hand is part of the ball; touching someone's finger tips after blocking a shot is not a foul. If you call that, I would hate to play with you lol.
|
38-52 on rebounds and 16-0 in 2nd chance points. That will change as the series goes on. Still, the Lakers are looking quite strong.

Exactly my point. It was at the rim, if you called that, then you would have to call a foul almost every time some one goes up for a shot at the rim in the NBA.
A perimeter shot is different though.

Woot Lakers. Artest, Odom, Kobe, and Gasol had great game. They were totally dominating the celtics on the board. The two teams had similar shooting percentage, but Lakers came out top because they just got so many more rebounds than the Celtics. Lakers in 6. 3 in home court 1 away.

Gasol was ON FIRE!!!
Wow I can't wait to see game 2, though I hope Celtics play their real game. But Gasol please keep killing them.

Woooooow Danny Ferry resigned. I'm not gonna pass judgement on how he's done with the Cavs but that seriously can't help the Cavs' attempt to re-sign LBJ :x
By the way sorry about my random offseason poking-my-head-into-this-thread-isms, even if it's a playoff thread and not an offseason thread.
