At least Chicago can prove last year vs Boston wasn't a fluke if they ride high this season. Game with SA almost done (Timmy the only one with a big night) 28 points, 16 rebounds,2 assists,2 steals, 3 blocks - HOLY SHIT Luol Deng is looking "decent" now also. I think Deng looked more than decent... he looked quite good considering he pretty much missed a year and this was his first game back, it didn't look like there was any rust.. he moved really well, shot well, defended well, etc. If he I also really like how Chicago played today, I feel they're one big man and another all-star away from being a serious threat in the East. If they can snag Wade next summer it'll be pretty orgasmic.

He's already convinced that lebron's better than jordan, with the passing ability of magic, with more maturity in teamwork and PR... I'm even skeptical that he roots for the Celtics when they play the cavs.

a) Greg Oden looks like such a gigantic disappointment. First, still can't stay out of foul trouble. Second, not much of a defensive presence, got out-muscled easily by Nene. Third, absolutely can't handle pressure situations, BAD sign! Here's an example. End game, Oden gets the ball, and you could visibly (clear as day) Oden frantically look for someone to pass to and throw the ball away immediately. A big time center would muscle that shit home close to the basket in an end-game situation. Not only that, he got double-fucked because he got fouled and was shitting his pants at the free throw line where he proceeded to brick 2 FT's that could have closed out the game. b) Wow @ Carmelo. The transformation that started last season seems to have gone up another notch. He's my dark hose MVP candidate if Denver can make top 3 in the West this year.

David Stern assured us that the lottery’s integrity-a new word for Stern- . It's big examples are nothing new: Kings Lakers, etc.Not to mention one of the fundamental themes of the argument - more games more money - completely ignores blatant counterexamples. Spurs cavs. Lakers nets. There are plenty of sweeps and 5 game series.

The NBA is very much a dirty organization. *- I should point out that the draft itself per se isn't the problem. It's the rookie contracts and expectations that really shake things up.

I've argued this a lot of times last year, I really don't think the refs impact on games as a whole is as much as people tend to believe. They can however decidedly influence a few specific games (see above examples).. but over an entire year period it's not like there's some unwritten rule of making sure one or two teams make it to the finals OO
