On January 17, 2013 Henry joined compLexity Gaming. Although his play time is limited due to attending the University of Toronto, he participates in as many Starcraft 2 competitions as possible and fights amazingly well; his matches are always exhilarating. He consistently places high and reaches finals in local tournaments, where he invariably seems to meet his nemesis - MaSa. He also does amazingly good Starcraft 2 coaching. Sensei Henry ftw!
I deal with Henry from time to time when we can't keep up with adding all the matches he wins to our database, we have 2 guys working nonstop only on Hendralisk winnings.
This guy man. I mentioned in passing that I was struggling in early game ZvT in a twitch chat, and walked me through how to defend the early pokes properly and told me to PM him if I had any more problems. He could've just kept scroling nbd. Sign me up for sure Hendralisk ftw.
I played in the first wcs am challenger qualifier today. Had a bye, took down Koma (teamkill first round boo), kreos and lost to sarovati in the 2nd last round.
However, I polished up my zvp knowledge, filled in the missing links, before I hit the books again, so I'm looking to come back stronger for the next one in 2 days!

What Henry doesn't share because he is so modest, is that he had to face a lot of tough university exams as well these days. So this victory just shows his tenacity to work and train at the same time.
Just had my 3rd session of being coached by hendralisk; as usual, filled about 3 pages with crucial information. And i got tons of homework too! xD Loving sc2 homework :D
Oh my god, Henry is super good at teaching stuff; we went through some of my replays then some of his, al the time getting tips and writing down mistakes and such; then resumed playing the same replay over and over again from a specific point where the mistakes were made, until i got all the timings almost where they need to be.
At the end, the cherry on top Henry is like: "ok take this replay of mine, it demonstrates the build you just practiced with proper timings and all; this terran is a bit better than what you meet on ladder". I open the replay and its versus POLT and Henry just smashes him in 13 minutes with that exact same build, perfect timings and everything.
Sensei Henry ftw :D
Also, seems like we will get some streaming soon! xD
And yes, will be starting my stream tmrw around noon-afternoon est. Will just be trying to practice mechanics with emphasis on viewer interaction, not rly on any tournament strats/bo for obv reasons
So far I lost in both MLG anaheim pool player qualifiers Fell to some unlucky zvz games, ofc need to work on my zvz some more
awesome games! you were playing really smart, it looked like you knew scarlett is a heavy macro player and you one-upped her by taking greedy pool timings and/or earlier third bases behind that cool and aggressive +1 armor ling style. she actually recovered fairly well in every game after shaky openings. in game 3 i think she was still fine until you got the double queen snipe, which in combination with your faster third gave you a massive larva advantage, and you took full advantage at the perfect time. great game sense
the only really questionable thing i i think scarlett did was trying to push the mass muta style for so long on king sejong station, although i understand why she did it. unfortunately for her you just had a strong response, built the right composition and split your roaches up really well to do the right amount of damage to her economy
Look ,he's knocked me out of 2 iem losers final qualifiers
But recently, I have been working on my mental strength and this has allowed me to play better than ever before, so I hope to continue this tomorrow in WCS!

That's awesome. A real sign of improvement. Good luck later today.
Okay I have all my crystals here with me, candles, and whatever else. I'm channeling as hard as I can right now!!! Leave it all out there Henry GL HF <3
today everything went in my opponents favor (except miniraiser where I mindgamed him hard) and I went 0-2 1-2 2-0 0-2, will play TLO and 2 open bracket players in the morning. I hope I can focus and play on point, this is disappointing to me

Well, the good news is that you can totally beat TLO tomorrow. Good luck, you will do better
Argh, this was not the best performance out of me :S
To put things short, the playing conditions caught me off guard (long waits due to delay and a way colder setting than I expected, plus eating random stomach pain inducing burrito before playing matches). Couldn't play properly and always second guessed myself. Got 1-1 vs violet and tlo, and in game 3 change my mind last second which caused me to take rly tough build orders, and lost 1-2 both times. Only went 1-6 as a result of overall poor play.
In championship bracket I lost to seed after being up 1-0, to 2 3base mass stalker timings :'(
All in all, lesson learned and I hope I don't embarss myself and my team next showing at such a big tournament! :D
Funnily enough I still finished higher than jd/revival/etc. huehuehue (yea yea its the pool format, but I am amused)

I'm making some (pretty terrible, I'm not good at this sort of thing but I just wanted to make them) hype videos for IEM Toronto, and I really wanted to get the one for Hendralisk done before his WCS matches. Unfortunately it's looking very unlikely that I'll be able to meet that deadline as it's midnight now, and I need to leave for work at 7:00 tomorrow morning.
So, if I don't get it done --I have my alarm set for 5:00, so we'll see-- best of luck in WCS tomorrow. I have faith that the upset can happen, and even if worst comes to worst, there are worse players to lose to than Hero and Taeja. You got this tho, and in any case I can't wait to see you tear through the open bracket at IEM Toronto.
GL HF tomorrow!
Dougler
Edit: yep, not gonna be done in time. Maybe the universe wants me to add some sick highlights from today's matchrs
Henry will face Oz in IEM Season 9 Toronto, cmon Henry let's do this!!!! Nice and clean, you're the best at preparing before events so let's start working!

good luck!! :D
:(
My IEM run was 0-2 oz, 2-0 kane, 0-2 jaedong
Violet watched my replays and said I could've won, if I wasn't nervous and used 2% more. In good spots both games but I was too nervous playing the jd :$
The bunny is dead for sure ;p That sucks, but no shame losing to these guys... btw I saw that small film "GL HF" yesterday, you seem like a chill dude, so gratz on that xD
loll I didn't really get that vibe, if anyone was the villain it was that guy (can't remember his name) who was proud to maphack and rage at the game xd
