woah. Just watch the Starswar games against MKP, damn, that was nuts 0.0, completely out playing MKP both games, making him look like a chump.
Such sick flanks and good Warp-prism use. Been a long time since I've been impressed by a Toss by watching only two games. Sign me up!

More ex-wc3 showing ex-bw where it's at.

second game was something special, first him getting comeback, than peculiar macro style by xiaot, he had probably 100 probes at some time, he kept making probes and had saturated 5 bases( he was making 6 probes at a time.. till gg time ) , it was more like zerg style macro im a fan
|
i have to state that all his opponents are going to play up and down matches recently. marineking and san and the matches were played in Chinese server which have help him a lot. finally watch xiaoT's game against Sen, he's not as good as huk.(which is not a powerful protoss too.) however i expect his progress

He wasn't the best of wc3 either.

Was instantly a fan after I saw his warp prism play in game 2 against MKP. Woo!

The best person to switch over was Mvp who peaked at Top 20 on KesPA rankings with a 40% winrate...
Everyone else was either bad A-Teamers or B-Teamers or people who never played pro games but were still "pro".

Grrr I need more recent xiaot replays FUUUU

great wc3 player, hopefully he'll make it big soon

Every example you can provide of a wc3 player beating a bw I can provide one of the opposite. I don't exactly see Moon lighting up the GSL.
In relevance to the thread, I was extremely impressed by his army control, in particular game 1 against MKP. Sign me up.

Sign me up. Got an interview coming from him, will translate it soon. Also some other matches of him vs san are up.

This guy is great 85% winrate on CN ladder. Very nice.

This guy is such a baller. Can't wait to watch him and IdrA next week. Hope he plays GSL soon.

Admin of this page , there are a few more wc3 vods of Xiote on youtube , add them !

Unfortunately I got no clue about WC3 at all...I don't want to blindly add every VOD aswell. If anyone finds particularly good VODs, I will add them, but I can't judge by myself.

This guy is dam good, sign me up

This guy almost makes me want to switch to Protoss, which is saying something, given how much I suck at that race.
What a great player. Hope to see him crash into the international (and Korean) scene in the upcoming months.
|
wow, this is the best discovery ever. Can't wait to see what a true genius does for protoss. This is the closest equivalent to a sc1 legend like Bisu or Flash coming to Sc2. and he plays protoss and not terran to boot!

When did MVP hit top 20 in Kespa? I thought his highest was #39 in June 2010. He definitely could have been in the top 20 in ELO after his Hana Daetoo MSL run though.

+ Show Spoiler [IdrA vs xiaOt Hype!] +![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/17aJS.png) Look at that bracket; read those names, and explain why this tournament is not the #1 trending topic on twitter right now! This tournament has shown some insane matchups like ST_Ace vs oGsMC, TLO vs HongUn, HuK vs MorroW, Sen vs Ace, San vs Ret as well as players like MKP, Boxer, White-Ra and many many more. The best part about this tournament is that it showcases some of the incredible Chinese talent with players such as Lovecd and Lovett proving they can tangle with the best in the world. However, no matchup can be more anticipated than one that is happening in less than a week! IdrA is one of, if not the best zerg and xiaOt is considered the best Chinese player; i am super excited for this series, especially to see how IdrA approaches this ZvP with supposedly a top class player. Hoping IdrA can win it - but it should be awesome! TL.net needs to hype this up way more than it is right now, this is a great matchup! To put it into some perspective; to get to this place in the finals xiaOt has beaten.. + Show Spoiler +MarineKingPrime. We, NsHs.San and now he faces IdrA Here is a little information on xiaOt; xiaOt was a Chinese WC3 orc with a huge amount of fucking talent, but was always lazy in attending international tournaments/didn't have the motivation to take it to the next level.
think of him as a chinese ret ;o http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/XiaOt

If any of you can't wait for his game in StarsWar, you might want to spend the time watching some replays, I added two more XiaOt vs the Terran on Shakuras was kind of interesting.

Bumping this up just to say that this guy has sexy, sexy defense play.

this guy is full of talent, i like to watch his play even im zerg player, and there are really few players that keep me interested in their play.
also love this "I acutally think xigua is 2 levels better than Idra, so there wasn't much pressure playing against him in the real match." from xiaot's interview ^^ what a baller

Hey!
First of all: Sign me up!
Second: How is "Xiaot" correctly pronounced? I am asking this cause I got a little bit into Chinese and tried to figure out how to pronounce his name. So, yeah most people pronounce the X like "dsh" or like the "zh" in pinyin - kind of similar to how you pronounce the "X" in "anxious". But if "Xiaot" is somehow meant to be pinyin than the X would have to be pronounced completeley differently (like "hs" in the Giles-script). However what gives me most trouble is the "t" at the end. I mean is this typical of Chinese? A "t" at the end? Can someone explain please? ^^

The "t" stands alone.
It's pronounced shee-ao-tee.

Hmm, you say this cause you know? Know based on what? I mean, I understand the "t" standing alone, makes perfect sense - but the X pronounced as a "sh"? Are you sure about that one?
Thanks for helping me out with the "t" anyways!

Looking at his name, I guess he's chinese.
I honestly don't know where your info came from, but it is wrong. His name is based on the Pinyin, a notation of the chinese words in the roman alphabet. If you want to know how to pronounce the pinyin in english, check wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinyin#Rules_given_in_terms_of_English_pronunciation
"Xi" is pronounced as "She", altho it just slightly different it's very close. "ao" is pronounced as "ow" as in cow the T is a stand-alone. The name means Little Templar, he explain his nickname many years ago. Hence the stand-alone T.

I'm Chinese and I listen to Chinese casts pretty often.
Like the poster above said, the "t" means templar and "xiao" means little in Chinese.

Man, I wish he were able to play in more tournaments! XiaoT jia you!!
Favorite SC2 player, but it's a shame we see so little of him.
He doesn't have a stream, right? Are there any more collections of VODs of him playing?
Thanks for updating the fanclub ^^

I'm going to link his games vs MC and maybe the games from the FXO Invitational if I can find them in the next days. There are probably more replays of him out there on the Chinese sites (especially Chinese ESL) but I can't seem to find them.

Anyone know when xiaOt and other Chinese players are going to try for the GSL? I heard something about how they're definitely interested, but want to practice more or something. I'm so interested to see how they'll do.

Sweet, thanks!
Keep us posted :>

In an interview in Replays.net xiaOt said he will travel to Korea for the GSL Code A qualifiers after the WCG Grand Finals. Can't find the actual interview, so I can't really confirm it.
|
I do recall that one of the casters for China's GSL broadcast said that xiaOt, among others, will be heading over to qualify some time this year. So, yeah, after the WCG Finals would sound about right.
The Chinese SC2 community takes the WCG like 10x more seriously than any other SC2 community I've seen. It's always been that way, however.
|
That. Would. Be. AWESOME!
|
Somehow missed this, but CCM and LGD were recently bought up by a rich kid. Additionally, xiaOt forfeited his spot in the WCG; it appears he transitioned into more of a management/coaching role in iG and did not have time to practice. (Another user has mentioned how his BNet account seems to be inactive.)
Very sad, since he was, IMHO, China's most promising (and best) player. I don't know when/if we'll ever see him in the GSL now.
|
This is so disappointing I totally agree with you babylon. I was looking forward so much to xiaOt coming and kicking some ass in Code A, but now it looks like that's not gonna happen...
|
Yea me too, a shame it had to be him out of all the Chinese players
|
|
|
|
xiaOt vs. Sheth happened ... sometime. Score was 3-1 in favor of xiaOt. (Not bad!)
Apparently he'll be playing HerO Sept. 11, 20:00 KST. Whoever wins that will play TheSTC.
