I'd recommend breaking up the package into smaller boxes and sending those to the PO box? We have received large boxes before.. unless you plan on sending a car I think this should be fine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Message From LingBlingMuta: Hey we have some people in the Idra fanclub who are wanting to get together an *appreciation* basket of sorts, and maybe some cards etc, to show our appreciation.
Where you come in is that we are doubtful of whether or not we can ship such a big shipment to your guys' PO Box.
If you could actually pm Whole (the current operator of Idra's FC) and maybe set something up, we would love you! (not that we don't :-))
Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated!

So basically what I think we should do is probably have Whole (if he is willing) take all our donations once we agree on what we are going to do and either A) Mail it to the PO box or B) see if anyone is willing to deliver it to him at Anaheim. what if one of us coordinated with someone in the EG Lair and had them place the order so the address would never be public. I'm basically thinking that a separate paypal gets setup and managed by someone like Anna or Incontrol and we just tell them what to order.
With the small conversation I had with geoff, he thinks the best thing is to go ahead and send it to the PO Box. Really though it doesn't matter to me.
We can wait to here from Whole and a few others. Then maybe I can see if Whole wants to do it. I just feel like itll mean more if its coming from someone outside the lair

I will definitely contribute.

I'm down for whatever you guys wanna do to support IdrA. It sounds like a fantastic idea. But I see a lot of ideas being tossed around. What do you guys want me to do specifically? I live in Louisiana, so being a proxy to send IdrA stuff shouldn't be a problem for me.

I see no need to make things overly complicated. Whole you said you'd be up for being a proxy? Then why don't you just organize a PO box and give us that or your home adress whichever you prefer? Obviously people should not be sending anything really valuable to you, so fanart or letters should be the most you'd have to handle. Just set a deadline for things to arrive then send everything.
As to what people should be making, I don't really know if we need to specify stuff. Just make something nice.

...and make sure it's not Anthrax. I'll start looking to set something up tomorrow. If you guys have any alternatives to Jinsho's idea, post them ASAP because I'm actually excited to do this lol.
and I'm going to sleep...so I'll check your ideas tomorrow morning and after school (No work tomorrow, so I won't keep you guys waiting lol)

We should also have like a digital dropbox maybe... that'd be really easy to set up and people can put all sorts of digital art and mail that way too..
i mean tbh i think real mail is a lot more bracing but its not a bad thing to have

you could just pm Whole (a link to your) stuff too
|
I think there would be something nice about receiving a lot of handwritten letters/cards
|
I'm all for the idea of trying to improve Greg's mood, but I can't really contribute anything. Hope he'll be happy. (And that he does not read everything here in advance. )

Well, if you could set up a paypal or a charity collection site, people can send you money for a few days (deadline in 48h for example), then we can see how much money there is and use it to get something sent to you from gifttree/somewhere else. The choice of object can follow the deadlline for the money to arrive.
http://www.chipin.com/ - this is how the did the MKP MLG donations.

I've got an idea for the solution to the Gift Basket thingimajigg if that's still on the table, can we all pile donations to Wholes Paypal, and he can forward the sum and specifications to someone like Geoff or SirScoots, and they can place the order to the real adress? We'll also need to specify what's supposed to be written on the Gift Card.
D'you think they'd be up for it?

This is a great idea too!

ofc we from germany can contribute, wtf!!!! we can write the letter, scan it, and then email to whole or something, so it doesnt take forever for the letter itself if we would send it. and we can still donate money for the gift box, remember he LOVES candy, exspecially white chocolate and lemon flavoured chocolate (no dark chocolate).
EDIT: but i think we shouldnt just write him that we love him and that hes the best player in the world. if someone experienced something where he got back on his feet again after something terrible happened to him, i think this would help way more. he needs some examples, some stories that make him believe, life can be nice to you again after you fall soo deep. and im serious, he is very depressed right now cuz of several reasons
|
Idra will eat the candy and shit all over your fan arts heheh
anyways that guy really needs some cheering up and I hope he improves because the scene without the Gracken lacks color and excitement
|
Oh heh sorry, I tend to stay away from the thread for a few days after a loss, you know how it is >< Would deffo contribute though. Personally I'm partial to personal touches, but I'm sure anything we'd do be appreciated.
