To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules; - Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
- When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
- No reposting of old material unless justified
- Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
- No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
- Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
- No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
- No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
- Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up. |

Making a song grow on you doesn't really say much about the song though. You can say a song is good or bad on your first listen. You can make yourself like or love a song more the more you listen to it but that doesn't make it better than when you first heard it.

I loved it the first time I listened to it, and still do. I think we should all stop talking about this song though; It's clear that everyone has a very very varied opinion on it, so we should leave it at that

Actually, some of the best songs get more impressive each listen, as you slowly understand the beautiful complexities that lie within them. Describing Flower Power with this. What am I reading? Actually describing most kpop songs with this is hilarious. It's either catchy, or it's not, that's sort of the whole point of pop songs. If the first 5 listens don't get you hooked, trying to brainwash yourself by blaring it over 9000 times, and forcing yourself to like it is pointless Sunny, cuz always relevant.

For example, Poison was mediocre to me when it came out, but I run across it more until I like it almost as much as Mado double en ay. This isn't the same as a track that's horrible the first go around, then forcing yourself to listen to it multiple times before you get an inkling of attraction to it.
To force yourself to listen to a track multiple times just for the sake of liking a group doesn't show dedication, it's delusional. It's like saying "well this gurr be annoying as hell and ugly as sin but maybe if I spend every day with her, we might form a bond or some lovey dovey shit might blossom!"

I'd say it's more like dealing with your best friend's new annoying girlfriend out of respect for him. You can't for the life of you imagine what he sees in her but whatever. Over time, she grows on you and you actually become reasonable friends
