I actually decided to give it a relisten after your post. Actually don't mind most of the song but its the chorus and the random talking parts that I still don't like. Lol third time and now even those parts aren't that bad...
I don't understand the logic behind this. "I dislike this song, it doesn't really have any redeemable qualities. sec, instead of taking another listen and dropping it like an ugly baby, lemme loop this for hours on end to see if I like it."
whack as fuck.
The power of kpop defies logic. We are held sway by its mysterious powers that can't be explained.

It's like you were starting to like kpop and feeling the thrill of discovering your bias but then, some friend comes along and makes fun of you. Caught between wanting his or her approval and fear of being outcast, you quickly decided to give up your newly found bias. Now you're torn from being humiliated for having a girl you admired, and the shame of throwing away the feelings for the girl and music that you liked.
I'm not saying that's at all what happened, it's just something I thought. Maybe I'm just in the mood for a sob story ^^
But "before I realized how it made me look/feel." what does that even mean? I can understand that in the eyes of some, it can make you look creepy/weird but I don't get the "feel" part. For me, my bias only makes me feel great. The way she positively influenced my outlook and lifestyle really makes me thankful and I want to work harder and become a better person so that I can, maybe, one day inspire someone else as she did for me. Sure I spend a lot of time in the day keeping up with her recent pictures, performances, and activities, but I'm sure I'd find an equally or even less productive way to spend my free time regardless.
Thanks to her, I started working out routinely, challenging myself to improve my korean, trying not to swear, finding the value is being nicer to people (even those I don't like), eating healthier, dressing better, etc etc. The improvements of pre-Taeyeon to post-Taeyeon Xenocide_Knight are really innumerable. I know it's a little weird to have a "bias" and it's certainly able to be considered obsessive to some.
But I always remember what she said, “So that they will never be ashamed to call themselves SNSD fans, we must truly work harder.” and I show my thanks by never being ashamed to call myself her fan. And of course, my new life motto "So that my parents, friends, and all those who associate with me will never be ashamed of me, I must truly work harder."

Such is the life of a Sone recently. On the bright side, a lot of times, you actually do end up enjoying the song. You should try it, you never know!

One thing I've never understood about K-Pop is why people live sing it? Either they are lipping the song or it sound terrible. However great dancers and not a half bad song!

if you're trying to say that minah's vocals are bad then fuck you

That is the charm of it live dancing, nice outfits, sometimes good songs. Everything in HD goodness of course if not every point I just made is moot

The reason it can sound really bad in kpop is because how much they are dancing so their vocals suffer. It will also sound terrible some times when they are relying way to much on the backtrack so when they actually sing themselves it sounds so fucking wierd (this is often the case in these MBC type of "live" performances).
But from what I've seen when it comes to "real" concerts is that most groups can pull it off pretty good when they are truly singing live.

I had enough courage to change my chrome theme on my laptop to a SNSD background, and it has a picture of all nine on the initial page of chrome. Given that we constantly use laptops at school there were a couple of instances where other guys just looked at me strangely and asked 'who are they?' and I say 'just a band' and it sort of ends there lol (they know i'm into that 'korean shit' as they say... so they sort of understand).
Although I still have the theme, I find that now I quickly type in the website address to get away from the screen as fast as possible
My substitute for your Taeyeon story is basically all the major boy bands, as funny as that sounds. I look at Suju/TVXQ/Shinee/Big Bang as role models. How they present themselves, how fit they keep themselves... and I've stolen quite a few dance moves Kpop has an abundance of amazing inspirational figures, and it can most definitely change your life for the better.
Im still not really comfortable saying that I like a band called A-pink to all of my friends though...

checked cuz I was curious, it is indeed a girl's day tribute. dat last fm If I could I would make minah gifs from all the perfs but alas until my MB returns from rma I cannot so have this old one
I don't really get it. Why do people care what others think about them? Unless they're you're boss, nothing anyone thinks can directly affect your life in any way, so if they don't accept you for who you are, why the fuck are you associate yourself with them? If someone said, "dude, I can't hang out with you because of (kpop/anime/your super cool black duster)", I'd just be like, "alright, fuck off then".
