As promised, I've made a list of my favorite K-Pop albums of all time. After going through all my albums (~1000 of them), I've narrowed it down to the top 30 (sorry, couldn't get it down to 20 as I originally stated, lol).
What makes you qualified to make such a list? I've been an avid K-Pop listener since 3rd grade, back in the mid-late 90s. This means that I've seen the growth and transformation of Korean music from a niche industry into the current international phenomenon. And this also means that I've enjoyed the music by lots of artists that most K-Pop fans have never heard of before. I also think that I offer a pretty objective and unbiased opinion about Korean music.
How did I choose these albums? Albums had to have had at least 3 or 4 top tier songs (completely subjective, I know). Popularity of the songs factored into my selection process but it wasn't weighted very heavily. Please remember that a lot of really good albums weren't included on this list. I was tempted to include albums that had 2 really strong songs but when I did that I ended up with over 80 albums. Best ofs (compilation albums), OSTs and things like I Am a Singer were not included.
Why isn't Super Junior oppadeul's - Sexy, Free & Single on this list?!?!? Because it's garbage.
When are you going to reveal the entire list? I will be revealing two per day until I get to the top 10, where I'll release 1 per day. I think it's too overwhelming if I release all 30 of them at once. The point of this is to spread awareness of good Korean music outside of the stuff that's been popular in the past 2-3 years. Rather than simply listing the album, I'll also be posting youtube links of my favorite songs from each album to make it easier to enjoy the music.

So they arent in any particular order? #30 is not worse than #20 or #5?
rankings are in order of preference, although the difference between 24 and 25 might not be appreciable. it's all subjective anyway lol.
and the clazziquai album is really good but the reason why i put it at #30 instead of higher is that i don't enjoy their type of music as much as some other genres...
you favor pop over acid jazz, bossa nova, and electro? WHY

i didn't purchase the vast majority of them... i bought close to 100 of them though.
and yes, 1000 is a rough estimate. the exact number, including my japanese music is 1530 albums total.
