Somewhat unrelated to the above:
I went ahead and watched Overlord season 1 and am in the process of watching season2 right now. To be completly honest it's mostly because of people talking about Ten-chan basicly voicing in an h-scene. And I've got to say I really liked season1 a lot. Season 2 (i just finished the lizard-sex episode) has been disappointing so far. First of all the lizard sex scene was weak as shit. I was expecting the 2nd comming of Nisemonogatari toothbrushscene from the way peopel talked and laughed about it and all we got was a second of "lol they're having sex" while he uses magic to look inside the hut. I'm not that far into s2 yet but I can't find myself caring about anything that has happened so far. Cocytus is easily the most boring guarding for me so seeing him on his path is pretty whatever. And I did enjoy the innitial stumping of random guys who go "OMG, THIS IS THE STRONGEST ANGEL EVER. IT CAN CAST A LVL7 SPELL!!!" into MC facepalm. I was actually kind of convinced at the beginning that the mindcontrol on the vampire wouldn't be a mindcrontrol at all and just turn out another gag with him wasting pay-to-win items on it but even that ended up being serious. Not sure what to make of that. It's just not the way I personally would want the show to go but I guess it's what it is.

Nezgar, if you read this: It's not as bad as you thought it would be but it's not good, either. Something between 5 and 6 out of 10 for me. The story has probably been written by an edgelord. Otherwise I can't explain why you would take an interesting setting like this and don't expand on it but instead use all the time on pseudo-intellectual conversations, philosophy and "problem-solving skills". I enjoyed it enough to not regret watching it but if you aren't bored to death and have too much time on your hands don't watch it. That's my personal recommendation for you.
The outro pretty much confirmed a sequel btw.
Time to start Full Metal Panic before the new one comes out next season. Hope I will like. I think they already have a sequel to B. It's called C. we can play that game all day!
Season4: D.Gray-man
As they saw how popular it was they upped their game and animated 2 cours worth of source material, essentially packing season 5 and 6 together: ef: A Tale of Memories.

Back when anime you watched was just whatever the guy with the big harddrives had. Its a new season/sequel/continuation. It will at least cover my second favorite volume of the novels, and hopefully/possibly also cover my favorite volume as well. I doubt they will get far enough to finish the series.

The whole premise just felt so alien and lame compared to the show, and having so many doppelganger characters in a prequel left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. They have those doppelgangers, but none of the the charm of the show.
Yeah, the action was cool, but realistically thats just like 3 scenes. How anything can feel lame compared to the show is beyond me but ok. imagine everything you don't like about NGNL. Then go on to imagine someone who actually liked all that about the series and thought it's funny. And then you see the movie and realize it has nothing of that at all. That might be a good thing for you but for someone who was expecting more funny games, jokes and fanservice it might be a disappointment. You can't go into the movie expecting more of NGNL tbh~ I get all that and it explains why somebody could be disappointed. It doesn't explain why it should be lame compared to the series though.
I thought I was clearer. Drastically different tone and setting, uninteresting doppelganger characters, none of the wit, charm, or power fantasy fulfillment.

Gegege no Kitaro is pretty good. Apparently it's a continuation of a really old anime.

Season's pretty much over. Time to recap.
Yuru Camp isn't that unique, but it's well executed. Decent watch. S2 feels inevitable.
Sora Yori was good. The overarching story was pretty tight, and the characters were fun. I will say though, some of the character arcs seemed like afterthoughts. The first conclusion to Mari's was kinda baffling. Yuzuki's was more comedic than anything else. Hinata's was actually pretty decent. + Show Spoiler +I especially liked how their conclusion was that it's okay to hold grudges. A lot of shows opt for the forgive and forget route, but it often feels like too convenient of a resolution in these shows. Stuff like Koe no Katachi, on the other hand... Shirase's was the most well thought out for obvious reasons. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot. With the way the story ended, I hope they never make a second season - it'd probably destroy everything I like about the show.
Citrus... Well it was entertaining enough, but it really started to drag about halfway through. Hilariously, I think it had a better animated kiss scene than Franxx.
Garo kinda blew. I didn't care for the designs this time around. There was a lot of monster of the week, but none of it was particularly memorable, and the designs of the horrors were pretty meh. The fight choreography wasn't that good either, even when they bothered. The plot was kinda dumb, and the tech aspect of the story ultimately felt pointless. Honestly, I don't know if they'll ever recapture the magic of Honoo no Kokuin.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens was alright. It's Black Lagoon with a lighter tone, similar action, and a lot more baseball metaphors.
3gatsu is still excellent. + Show Spoiler [Ep 22] +The chapter with the mom's monologue is great, and I think the anime only improved on it. Her tone is calm throughout the entire thing, but the whole thing is just so fucked up. She has no rational reason to dislike Rei, and yet, it's totally understandable that she does. He literally tore the entire family apart even though he did nothing wrong.
She's not angry or anything. This is just the way things are. I think 3gatsu's at its best when it's doing those mini-arcs exploring characters other than Rei or the Kawamoto family. Stuff like the pigeons and the Eternal Kishou are excellent. Heck, it's why I like Gotou so much. They bring life to characters without the context of Rei, letting them show what they're really about. What I really appreciate is that it doesn't feel like they're fishing for tears like some other works. a lot of the stories are emotional, but it feels genuine - and most importantly - human.
Franxx is okay as a slice of life. Everything else kinda sucks. All the drama and most of the plot I found pretty boring. Still better than VEG in that respect though.
Overlord s2 just sucked.

Overlord s3 announced
Luckily season 3 should cover more interesting volumes, not to mention minimal climb
fuck climb, what a garbage character

Finished Overlord s2
Have to be honest, the 2nd season just wasn't good for me. If I had rated s1 an 8 I'd probably put s2 at a 6... The last 2 episodes were somewhat good but besides that I just didn't care about an awful lot that happened. The Lizardman arc was boring, the Butler arc was boring aside from a couple scenes here and there (that's an improvement over lizard arc though!) and really only the last 2 episodes is what I'd call enjoyable. Not great but enjoyable. I might have even dropped this had I not marathoned through the lizard arc all at once so giving it a 6 is probably being really nice on my part.
There's a fair amount of things I did like in the last episodes though. Plain-chan keeps being entertaining even if that probably means we would have to see more Climb. Evileye was just really good mostly because she sounded like Chiyo from Nozaki-kun. I don't know if it's just been so long that I don't remember what Chiyo actually sounded like but I had to look up who Evileye is and was surprised that it's not the same person as Chiyo. Especially that ending + Show Spoiler +with her forgetting about her teleport spell, or the way she expected to get carried like a princess and then got carried like a sack of potatos in the episode before that is so 100% Chiyo. And just generally a bunch of funny moments for me, like that ending scene with the two sibling guardians and them just being the most adoreable ever due to voices and then hearing what they're up to.
So with that being said, I'm still looking forward to season3 as I'm hoping that we don't get more boring arcs like this.

I like the lizard arc but anything wtih climb is a fucking snoozefest
Doesn't help that the production quality dropped hard too, not that s1 was a masterpiece in that regard either
|
the one thing Climb did was give that illusionist a kick that probably made him die from shock right then and there. But that's about it.
|
Did S2 have lots of Narbel? No? That is why it failed.
|
It also had almost no Albedo but we got Climb instead! That's like a season of Railgun without Railgun and you get Kuroko to make up for that. What were they thinking... Unless you're some crazy person like Elem in which case that example doesn't mean anything to you.
|
That example doesn't mean anything to me and Albedo sucks balls so I don't get your point?
|
I'm sure she would, but he's undead so I don't think he has any

Tokyo Ghoul is back. Loved the episode. Black Clover is getting better finally but the pace is insanely slow.

3-gatsu was amazing as usual, if not even more amazing this season. I loved the extra screen time the Kawamoto family got and Hina's bullying arc. Rei and Hina look so damn cute together XD.
Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san. It started off good, but then I kind of realized it's essentially a 30min ramen commercial. It sucks that Ayaneru's character was such a crazy stalker chick and made me not really want to watch it because of her. It was great that Koizumi's ponytail changed almost every time she was eating different ramen. At least when I go to Japan, I'll have lots of great ramen places to go to.
Mahoutsukai no Yome. Looked great, had great setting and European style fantasy setting to it. Not much to say, loved some arcs, while some others were meh, but overall enjoyable.
Overlord S2... sucked. I hear it's following close to source, so can't fault it on that, but the arcs were just so boring and did not make me care for any of the characters to the point I was wondering if I was even watching the correct show in the beginning. Climb sucks, show was only interesting when the OP characters showed how OP they were. Guess I'll forever remember it for + Show Spoiler +Shallchair and Ten-chan lizard sex...
Yurucamp. Pretty comfy slice of life, but also pretty unrealistic/idealized versions of camping. Maybe I just don't go camping enough, or don't go camping in Japan, but damn really? washroom stalls at the campsites!? a bath house?! The most realistic part of the show was + Show Spoiler +when Nadeshiko was struggling to find a job, only to eventually find one by getting a hookup from a friend... I KNOW THAT FEEL TOO WELL!!! T.T
Takagi-san. Only picked it up because friend sent me memes of Takagi-san's smug face, and though, qt, let's check it out. Good thing I did. Her constant trolling and teasing made me giggle and look forward to every ep.
Relife OVA. Forgot a lot of it since the last time I watched the series was almost 2 years ago. Reminded me how cute Hishiron was. Glad there was some closure at the end.
Violet Evergarden. I'm pretty guilty of hyping the living shit out of this one, especially since I got to see ep 1 last year at AX and I'm a pretty big Kyoani fanboy. It's gorgeous and standard at this point for KyoAni, though the story was really really slow to start. Was debating dropping it at one point since I was a couple weeks behind, and didn't have any motivation to finish it. Luckily didn't, since ep 7-10 finally delivered. It's not over yet, but at least it delivered on some feels. To paraphrase another person, it was good that it showed the struggles of veterans who come back after war time/service and have to readjust to civilian life. Feels like it's being emphasized a bit more with the last arc too. + Show Spoiler +Those that lost, come back to humiliation and no longer have a purpose in life, so they're trying to start another war in some blind sense that it'll give them back a purpose/glory.
Sora Yori. Finally started watching it yesterday due to all the talk of it in this thread and surprised it wasn't on my radar earlier what with the top tier voice cast and all. First couple ep were enough to get me hooked and went through half the season in one sitting. Loved the interactions between the girls. For having only met each other for less than a month, they acted like they had been best friends since birth and that chemistry was great. (Think it was Shirashi that made that observation early on when she got introduced).

Nice try to dodge but since she could instead just suck his boner I'm not sure your dodge is very effective.

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens was just so much cheesy fun, I loved it. People seem to compare it to Baccano and Durara which I don't understand at all, tried to watch both of those and they were just bad, no enjoyable characters.
