It was good! I'm hyped for the show. That Ferret in Scopedog Grimoire is the best character so far. Lots of Age suits in the prologue too. Which is fine, since Mecha Design was one of Age's strong points. | ||

Maaaaybe the building falling over in the very beginning but everything else looks pretty amazing. From the train that lands on them, turning it into the new background to all the movement everywhere else. This is a bit expected given that it's only a 20sec ad and gives them plenty of time to show off (because they focus so much on just those 20secs) but it's clearly good looking imo. Unless you're talking about the twitter upload algorithm butchering it. | ||

The 20secs add looks easily more impressive than the crossroad trailer oO It's made by Khara (the studio from Anno, you know, the famous one) and there's just so much more movement throughout everything. Crossroad has a lot more movement if you compare it to normal anime as well, which often is just a set background and 1 or 2 characters moving / opening their mouthes while everything in the background is either still or looks like shit. Crossroad, as most movies, are significantly more up there in that they have a lot of stuff moving around at the same time. This one however has everything moving, from a continually rotating camera resulting in everything changing each frame to the screenfilling backgrounds that change everything all the time (the fire-monster-thing popping in fullscreen within splitseconds changing everything in the shot, the train falling in there really fast as well, the laser-thingy etc) It's just so much more movement it's not even anywhere on the same level when trying to compare tbh. But like I said, that's to be expected with a short 20sec ad that they spent tons and tons of money on. They're going to show off way more than they could in a 20min episode or a featurefilm length movie. But you certainly won't get that level of animation anywhere in anime, be it movie or normal series. And like mentioned above, it's for Nissin, they're kind of famous for this kind of thing. | ||
