+ Show Spoiler +My thoughts that the creator made this as a part of their torture fetish is becoming more and more believable. I wouldn't have been surprised if they had ripped apart Emilia with the way the crazy is being turned up. Again Subaru tries to solve things in a very ugly way, telling a person to trust them while being almost historical when you just lost that person's trust instead of trying to convince them through any sort of reason. Even if he can't prove that the cult is going to attack he could at least put them on guard.
A separate thing that annoys me is that Subaru is clearly genre savy about manga/anime as he knows about anime where the hero is sent to a fantasy world yet he takes so long to see fantasy tropes. He took a while to understand what death by return and whole whale memory thing. Either make him genre savy and speed the plot along or go walking dead and pretend those animes don't exist.
