It also makes no sense to me why there are a whole bunch of people living right by the border to this land. They seem to know the cycle and we've seen that swords etc. work fine vs the monsters so setting up a wall ~50 beforehand seems pretty easy to do. I guess with the boob strap I should have known it's a more turn off brain kind of show. Still waiting for Hibike to bust out in some burning song.
I mean if it's kyouma who sent the fake as they suspected, he/she surely would have some way of surviving.

Remember "there's a difference between harem shows and shows with harem elements" that I think me and slaughter brought up before(?) I don't remember this discussion. I'm guessing a show like Monotagari would fall under the "not harem with harem elements" kind of thing.

If they can send such amazing fakes then why bother with the braves? Just send a bunch of them, take over the land and slowly lower the standard of education until the Demon King stuff is a myth then bam he comes back and you ass fuck everyone?

Does soemthing have perverted, lewd, sexy, etc elements? Then it has ecchi elements. Does it constantly shove this into your face every epsiode, for almost every scene? If yes, then the show is solidly within the ecchi category. The idea that KLK isn't ecchi because of "themes" or "plot" + Show Spoiler + could be used to say Highschool of the Dead isn't ecchi.
There isn't anything wrong with KLK being ecchi, but you can't have a show that throws such a copious amount of fanservice, nudity, and other suggestive content in your face constantly and pretend its not actually doing that.
SAO is a fake harem, the very worst kind of harem there is.

How many "love interests" are there in SAO?
Rule of Souma says a show can't be harem unless there's at least four girls (or guys in the case of a reverse harem or yaoi) vying for the MC's rabu.

Cute ep. It's pretty difficult to go wrong when most of the time is taken up by Konomi, Candy Store, and Renge.
Natsumi a shit. You say the 1st part every episode :D What happened in that OVA that you want to see more of? There's a higher potential for Konomi to strike down the annoying duo.

To answer your questions.
+ Show Spoiler +The fake has a genuine seal (so they can survive) but they are hard as fuck to make/get (this prolly wont even come up in the anime).
Yes there are people living near the border and it WAS heavily fortified if you noticed. They also have no idea when the demon God will come back as its not consistent (and usually has several hundred year time lag). Its the same thing with people who live near active volcanoes in the real world. They can set up a wall all they want but its not going to really do them any good. You noticed that the fortress near the border was on its last leg? Yea the Kouma forces are far superior (and they also are still active while the demon god is sleeping).
Its really not a "turn off your brain" kind of show lol. Its a mystery, your supposed to pay attention.

I would say by this definition SAO isn't a harem then. Since I don't think Kirito ever has 4 people who like him at the same time. The girls in SAO give up pretty quickly since Asuna exists.

I hope once NNB is over they come out with a spin-off that focuses on the days Konomi and Dagashiya were at the school like that one episode.
And terror baby Renge ofc.
Then add in some random cameos of little Hotaru.

SAO is just a harem with a clear definitive winner. Just because Asuna won, doesn't mean the other girls + cousin + Klein doesn't still want Kirito's 2 years of glop.

Rule of Souma says a show can't be harem unless there's at least four girls (or guys in the case of a reverse harem or yaoi) vying for the MC's rabu. Since SAO is a fake-harem, MMO Jesus already decided on the girl he likes. However, despite that, there are like 4 additional girls after his cock. These people include is his cousin, Sawashiro, that blacksmith girl, that dragon-tamer loli, and at least in the LN, these two faction leaders kept trying to seduce him at a few points, although I'm not sure if they should actually count. Then if you count dead characters, throw Hayamin in there too. And although the anime didn't get this far (yet), he gets a husbando and a few more fangirls. So 5+ in the anime, 6+ if you count dead ones, and the number grows the longer it goes?

Sinon in the anime Sinon was pretty much like "oh damn hes taken *shrug*" then she never shows any indication again. Loli and blacksmith both had their ceasefire scene at the end of the 1st arc.....aaaaand that is pretty much the last of any romance talk outside of Asuna and Kirito. Everything is geared towards AsunaxKirito. SAO isn't a harem show where romance and things surrounding it occupy 80% of the show. Its about Kirito Jesus solving problems and questing n shit with his friends with some "real world" shit thrown in. Oh yea various girls thoughout the series have shown an interest in the mc....ok then what? Oh they pretty much never acknowledge it again? Yea not a harem show, just a fantasy show where some awkward tacked on "oh hey some girls like him....hes such a cool mc he can build himself a harem if he wants to!" in the background.
The main thrust isn't and will never be harem. Harem shows are about the GIRLS. Not emo digital jesus mc and his wife.
|
You forgot about how every single girl was constantly flirting and trying to seduce MMO Jesus in Excalibur SS. IDK what you read to suggest they show interest initially, and then never acknowledge it again. Thats just plainly untrue.
And I never claimed it was a harem show. I said its a fake harem show. Important distinction imo.
Also its scifi, not fantasy. Or scifi pretending to be fantasy. Or scifi pretending to be fantasy pretending to be scifi.
|
I don't remember any flirting by sister/loli/blacksmith/sinon in that arc. The only flirting I remember is the samurai hitting on the npc characters.
Also reading? I am talking about the anime btw. I haven't read the lns outside of a couple.

I see through your veiled attempts to get me to rewatch SAO! Well, it won't work! Once was already too many

Lol don't worry, not that into SAO either to rewatch it again lol.
