But considering that AO is a direct sequel, it would be strongly recommended to watch the original first. There is nothing in mecha series this year so far that's anywhere near creative or couldn't be done with a much more creative setting like steampunk. People need to stop having fetishes for robots, esp. b/c it's not like action scenes are much better with mechas nowadays than regular person-to-person ones. Less cheering for crap like this, more reading of Bokurano, plz. If you are going to complain about a show, watch it first, so you won't be talking out of your ass. And please, action is action, the fact that robots are involved is irrelevant. If you are going to complain about mecha's lack of creativity, might as well complain about any action show's lack of creativity, because when it comes down to it, there is little difference.
That's why I'm not complaining about an action series' lack of creativity, I'm complaining about the fact that mecha series are simply action with a paper-thin robot wrapping around it that has no real effect on the central themes. tbh the only reason I would spend time watching this is b/c Bones made it.

Have u tried watching EVOL by any chance? Mecha isnt really my type of genre. But I found EVOL very appealing, simply cause it has a balance of everything in it.
Normally, my understanding of mecha was that its just scifi machines fighting in space. But watching this anime has changed that for me.
Dunno if Im on track here, and Ill prolly get called a "retard" by Sent for w/e reason he can find, but this is just my 2cents.

Blobskillz pilots the Hambrabi, and they are known as the 'Northern Sword'!
looks kinda nice even though I have no clue if it's any good
|
Elem pilots the Zaku Tank, and they are nicknamed the 'Beige Duelist'! I never watched gundam, but ZAKU TANK sounds badass. Beige Duelist sounds like some sort of irrelevant guy with "oh-so-fancy" title from a random shounen show who gets an episode dedicated to the MC getting a random ability to kick his ass, though.
|
evantrees pilots the GM Precession Type, and enemies call them the 'Enigmatic Captain'!
Suit Sander loses a team and gets saved by a ball in.
Have always been amused by pilots kicking ass in the more generic suits for whatever reason but a gm hmm

Now to go look it up.. Its a GM, the Grunt/Cannon Fodder Federation suit. Better than a Zaku, slightly better than being some random grunt (cuz Custom), but still GM At least you are mannered, and aren't BM (lolololol get it?) [04:28] <Sentenal> nagisama pilots the Ball, and they are nicknamed the 'Yellow Castle'! [04:28] <Sentenal> THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST [04:28] <Sentenal> BEST LOL asian power!!! I've noticed it changes based on capitalization too.

I don't understand why that'd be a reason to dislike mecha. What you're basically saying is that you just don't like robots because they don't contribute to a central theme, which in some cases is not only untrue, but also pretty irrelevant to begin with.

Kill me Baby is unpopular, it has bad quality, and it has bad sales.

+ Show Spoiler [Hayate no Gotoku 359] +Does... does that mean another Nagi manga arc? I... I don't even know what to say.
It is a fresh change of pace though for Hamster to realise that a life with Hayate would mean overcoming his luck problems with money haha.

I did enjoy her fantasies of living with Hayate and their debt always growing. I guess we have to go back to Nagi. Would've loved more Ruka.

Maybe because you didnt see it, both FMA and Brotherhood are there, thats if your asking about the chart.
If you mean the Sales list, that is only for anime airing in the Winter Season of 2011-2012, like it says on the frikkin top of the post, its first mentioned in..

Original FMA is def one of the best I've watched, and I think only a fool would claim that it isn't one of the better (I cannot say best, as people's tastes obv will differ) that have been made.
Edit: Shame on me, Rebs too stronk.

Was piloted by Mashymre Cello in ZZ Gundam, and the guy was a fucking basket case. He was comically obsessed with Haman, and generally incompetent. The Hamma Hamma itself came pretty early, was out-classed by the ZZ Gundam, and wasn't seen again.

Clearly he has no idea what he is talking about. I should have figured as much when he started talking about Bokurano and Steampunk.
