Skip the second season though, it's pretty lame imo; it gets a lot of hate for its ending and a bunch of other changes they made from the first season. The OVAs are good though and bridge between the two seasons. | ||

School days is actually a good anime, people just used it as a troll rec because of how amusing people's reactions are to the last episode and the resulting explosion of japanese mainstream media. Half the anime that gets discussed in this thread will be forgotten in a month, but school days will leave a lasting impression on anyone that watched the whole thing. It's far more "real" than any of the hundreds of shitty romance/drama high school shit that gets animated, and has characters that people can actually relate to. The lack of 4+ years of blueballing the main characters is an automatic plus, the addition of realistic drama and characterization gives the show a strong backing. TLDR, It's actually good but you probably only watched it for the tits, or you got trolled. | ||

If by greatest show ever you mean, mediocre show that started strong and the turned into a fucking trainwreck because it was only 13 episodes long and not 26, then YES I would totally mean Angel Beats. But, alas, I doubt you meant that. Angel Beats started as a GREAT show, novel concept with good drama. But then... what the fuck last half of the show? It was like.
