I just re-watched Code Geass for the 3rd time and to me it's probably one of the best stories conceived and executed in an anime ever. I was wondering for someone who has broader anime horizons than I do (basically the jump manga/anime), could you recommend me an anime with an equally deep storyline and excellent characters?
so again, I'm basically more keen for a really well executed storyline and well thought-out characters than specific genres or sub-genres.
Cheers!
Evangelion is super deep.
Probably the most DEEP thing you'll ever see in your life.
I watched it about 4-6 years ago and boy was I freaking mind fucked. Good god that was good stuff. Sometimes you enjoy a good mind fucking which was why I watched texhnolyze
Just incase you missed it, you are responding to sarcasm.
Really fun episode to start off the new season. Introduces a couple of new characters. Ayumu went from gay to super gay in a matter of seconds. (again)
I like what they did with the anime. The episode was pretty nice overall. The plot is closely following the manga storyline and I can't wait to see Kumagawa, want to hear him talk real bad. T_T
The story is butchered from the get go. Can't say I'm a fan of such changes, but the action seemed nice and potentially it could still live up to its potential.
I thought Medaka Box episode one was decent. It was pretty much what I was expecting out of a first episode. Although I will agree that I'm not much of a fan of Toyosaki Aki and still feel Medaka's voice actor was miscast. I feel she was better in roles like Uiharu in Railgun than Medaka in Medaka Box.
I've been somewhat biased in favor of her since kokoroconnect drama cd but I guess that's a bit too far off from the kind of roles she can pull off, not that it really matters since only ones I care about be Kumagawa + Anshin'in-san~

I'd recommend either Guilty Crown, or if you really want braoder anime horizons, then Horizon to the Middle of Nowhere.

Woah I've never heard of those anime, I better go watch them before they fade into obscurity and I forget them.
Also, to add onto this list, Dragonball Z is also a pretty good old anime that i recommend
