Wish they would have had more money to work on the animations, the still shots of orchestras and players over music became very old by the end of the series. And I absolutely fell in love with Nodame by episode two. She helped me get through the show despite disliking Chiaki until the very end. + Show Spoiler +I teared up a little during the last episode, embarrassingly enough. For a short period of time I actually thought Chiaki was such a dick that he wasn't going to rescue Nodame and she would never touch music again. I should know better, but still. I was invested X.X Are the sequels any good?

They are quite good, if you enjoyed the first series, you'll enjoy the rest. I didn't really like the last one quite as much, however it's still a laugh.

/ayase-fanboyism off + Show Spoiler [Guilty Crown - 19] +I'm pretty sure everybody would rather have Ayase do it Although if she did, she would have much less experience than Shu. Not to mention, she would probably fail to kill Gai, anyway. ...Shu WOULD have the "carry everybody's burden" power >.> + Show Spoiler +I think they should definitely make a second season which Ayase got the Void Genome ^_^
Furthermore, the way I understand it, Shu's own Void can draw others' Void already (much like Gai's). So it's kind of a waste to have it on Shu anyways -___-.
btw, I am sad that scarface died. I always thought he would be the best antagonist.
+ Show Spoiler [Guilty Crown - 19] +I'm not sure how one would even be able to draw out Shu's power and give him control of it. We saw with the genome resonator detector that he had an undefined level, so it could be more difficult to handle. Also, Shu wouldn't be able to maintain complete control of it, and if Ayase died, he would lose it immediately, too Are there currently 3 people with the void genome? i.e., Shu, Gai, and that one person?
+ Show Spoiler +As far as I know, three of those tubes WERE made. Shu used two of them, Gai stole one from Shu. Yuu also owns one of them

+ Show Spoiler [Amagami SS+ - 09] +Well...the lunch lady knows more about what Sae likes to eat than Junichi. I did like Junichi recalling how Miya misunderstood Sae's meetup message. <3 chibi-Sae and chibi-Miya.

+ Show Spoiler [FIXED GC 19] + Was a little disappointed when he got his void genom back, his limbs turned into green latern or something, dont really like how they drew it :/ Ayase should be the main character :3
Use spoilers ffs

Newest GC episode was aites.
+ Show Spoiler +Was pretty cool, what Shu's void was. I guess that explains all that Guilty Crown titling shenanigans.

Anime musicals can be legitimately entertaining.
|
Someone must get it on video, then sub it!!!

I've been to a few music focused musicals by Eminence Symphony Orchestra who focuses on anime, game, film scores and its excellent! They are trying to cater to a younger crowd. I'd assume a fully re-entacted play threatre version would be even more entertaining!

So I take it One Piece is a recommended anime to watch?
|
One Piece is probably the best representation of how a Shonnen should evolve on the VERY LONG TERM! If you wanna start now, you're probably gonna have difficulties going through all the early story (I'm talking about 200 episodes here) since everything about it was much less mature than it is know. Nevertheless, every character's story is amazing in their own way, One Piece is the only anime I started to watch when I was 12 and still watch now that I'm 23 .... because I feel like everything about it grew up with me ... I would recommend it if you wanna get into something BIG, not just a cool story with a quick ending, because this is what One Piece is all about. People use the word "epic" for pretty much everything nowadays even though it doesn't actually fits.
One Piece IS a truly EPIC adventure if you give it the time it deserves.

One Piece is an overrated shounen manga; if you like simplistic action stuff (or just want a turn brain off series to follow) then you can go for it, but don't go expecting anything spectacular. That's all.

Something doesn't really make sense here ..... you blame it for being simplistic when you also say it's a Shonnen ... Shonnen's aren't made to include highly intellectual questioning, they're basically made to inspire youngsters. You might not like it which is your right but calling it overrated or simplistic is nonsense when it perfectly fits it's goals.

One Piece has a grand scale world with surprising continuity across its several hundred chapters. Many of its villains and themes are alarmingly simple, but it waxes serious enough times with racism, despotism, slavery, etc. that I wouldn't turn off my brain for it like I would for a generic slice-of-life.
Then again if I were to marathon the entire anime, I doubt my brain could stand at attention for the entire duration.

Oh come on, if you look at it for what it is, you know they use racism, despotism, slavery, etc. just to symbolize how EVIL someone is. There's not a whole lot beyond that. Very recently (past few months) did they finally attempt to expound more seriously on the matter of racism, but to try to expound that and say "see, OP has been tackling deep philosophical issues all along!" would be lying.
Edit2: To expound on THAT, I'd go ahead and say at least half of all shounen stuff that deal with rulership use slavery, racism, and despotism to symbolize dictatorships and evil. It's the easiest way to project it, rather than deal with other issues such as financial siphoning. One Piece is not even remotely the only shounen thing to do this.

GC 19
+ Show Spoiler + Anyone mind telling me Shu void? I dont really understand it. It an arm, that allows him to draw take in everyone burden but how is this a good thing? It seems like just regular void power to me >.> or is his void power overlapping his power of the king? It seems to me that the only differences is that he can store other people voids in his green lantern arm? So it like a giant pocket of voids at his disposable that he can switch between really quickly

Gintama is obviously the best long running shounen xD
(dr. slump is the only other worthy competitor when it comes to toilet/poop jokes xD)
seriously though and my tastes aside, many shounen series drop in quality as they are forced to continue, my first example would be dragonball, but bleach is much worse in this regard, that is something that has not happened yet in one piece, i even think one piece was really planned to go on this long (or the general idea of the manga is much more forgiving to extending its length, just add more islands, like levels in a computer game)
and in the end, its all shounen, do not expect depth ever!
