I remember not liking it at all when I started watching it the first time because the art and... and Hagu..., but after like 5-6episodes I was hooked.
I just finished the series. Twas good. I couldn't stop laughing at certain points. I still gave it an 8/10 just by personal preference... there were too many + Show Spoiler +
love triangles and rectangles
going on. I'm watching the second season now =P Takemoto gets progressively better looking I must say lololol.
He did look like a super dweeb in the first 2-3 episodes for sure.
Yukiteru finally manned up HELL YEAH. Oh I was so giddy when he coldly murdered all of eighths followers. A little confused on the third corpse, so was that her twin or what? CLONE? Shouldn't matter either way, Yuki knows Yuno is the only one he can count on
Yeah, but I can't believe it took him so long to figure out that being God = you can just undo everything you did to become God and fix everyone else' problems. Talk about being slow.
Also don't get why Yukiteru is so freaked out about her not being the real Yuno. Why does that even matter? The one with him now has proven she "loves" him. That should be good enough until he becomes God and can figure out who she really is and why she killed Yuno and her parents.
I also wish 9th would just throw that grenade, kill the four of them and win. But she's too soft to do that.
My understanding is that he will eventually need to kill her, so he thought he might as well distance himself from her now and only use her as a tool for him to achieve ascendency.
This is more an issue of initial reaction rather than thought out reasoning. If you were told your best friend actually isn't who he said he was and killed the original and somehow managed to replace him/her in society without anyone noticing, your first thoughts probably wouldn't be "that changes nothing about who I know this person is!" Furthermore, he's never fully trusted Yuno because he knows she's a crazy yandere who keeps corpses in her house - and later, digs a giant hole to bury them and rewrites her memories and forgets about them.
As for how long it took him to man up, yeah that was annoying, but ironically, the show would move a lot faster if he went boss mode much earlier lol. Overall, I enjoyed the pace of the story and am glad the anime is following the manga so closely. However, prior to his parents' deaths, he had no reason or desire to become god and fix everything. His mindset has never been to help others; it's always been selfish and what's in his interest. That's why as soon as his dad was killed, he was able to make his decision. But there's actually an even more important reason which I won't spoil.
If you were just a normal person and your best friend was suddenly revealed to be some impostor who killed the original than yeah, I could understand you acting the way Yukiteru did. However, while trusting her has always been an issue for him, she's never once actually betrayed him. Recently he's realized he can trust her, or at the very least, trust that she cares about him enough to not do him any harm.
Not only that, but he wasn't even given proof. He was tossed an umbilical cord (lol) and said the DNA matched that, and that it was "Yuno". Given that scenario my initial reaction would be to deny that it could be true. Even if it was true, Yukiteru has no real reason to believe that it is true. At this point it's just the word of Akise over "Yuno".
I think prior to their deaths he was just so caught up in surviving he didn't really care about the end goal of becoming a God.

Again, initial reaction has nothing to do with logic. Your reaction after ten seconds of processing the information would be to deny it's true; your instantaneous reaction of half a second would be "WTF?!!" and that's exactly and solely what we saw. Also note that Yuki has an unnaturally slow ability to process information.
Wow really enjoyed this episode. Mio was great this ep and managed to confess! Who cares if she's a nudist, she's still best girl in the series, except for Lemon the mastermind. Really glad those 2 girls were just used to catalyze the plot and (hopefully) won't be seen anymore. I have to say, this has been one of the best romance anime I've seen in some time. Biggest worry right now is if they use some alien space drama card; it would be working just as well if Ichika was actually a normal human girl. Looks like Kanna might be getting shafted (sorry ZNF) if Mio and Tetsurou hook up and the obvious pairing of Kaito and Ichika. But that again brings up the question of Ichika and her alien drama letting her stay on Earth.

This episode is finally moving along. Everyone is confessing to each other, dawwww. Makes me feel like im in highschool again ^_^
But it sure took a long time to get here, 7 damn episodes, jeeze... I guess the rest of the plot will be about the mystery alien person. The little pokemon dude is scared shitless, it better be someone interesting.
And I also agree that this show couldve been done fine just to have Ichika be a normal girl. Maybe the unknown visitor will make the show a bit more exciting, and well see what theyre really trying to do with this odd plot setup.

Yea brings back the warm fuzzy high school memories. Its nice how every character so far seems to have a specific role to play. Remon continuing to seem like the one pulling the strings. Steering lost characters towards their goal and lending a helping hand when they're losing the race.
I think the alien/space plot would either be a parent/guardian based on Rinon's fear or probably more likely another rivial, silbling perhaps?

This episode was pretty good. I like how everything moves along so well, no beating around the bush and being overall slow. All thanks to the greatness that is Lemon. ufufufufu. I was surprised Mio managed to confess. And although Kaito didn't actually confess, his scene with Ichika was basically a confession anyways. Poor Kanna. She's such a cute drunk lol.

I think it's only worth it to watch the odd numbered episodes. Some of them gets redundant really fast.

Not if Sakura-chan was your hatsukoi <3!
Yes, well, if the point of watching CCS is to watch Sakura wearing a new costume every episode, then you should. Other than that, it's not that great.
Surprised I still had 2 OVAs of Cyber Formula, Now downloading the other 2 I don't have the original series anymore though.
That was like the manliest anime of my childhood right there. Mecha are great. but If you don't like Cyber Forumla that's just so good.... Dammit I lost all my models too T.T
My thoughts on Aquarion EVOL so far (currently ep 05): + Show Spoiler +
If you thought a show like Infinite Stratos was good, even if its just for the humor. Aquarion EVOL will blow your fcking mind. The jokes and the girls are so much more superior, in every way. This is a easy recommendation to all my friends who thought IS was a half-way decent show. I even thought the background and intro scenes looked familiar so I checked the studios, and the same studio did IS as well. That was a fun fact to know.
Im really enjoying this series though, I feel a good balance of school life and action (Im not one for action, but I found this refreshing). By now I kinda get where theyre going with the plot, new generations redoing the past etc. That kind of plot-setting is enough to keep me interested. And its gonna be a full 26 eps, so I can always be happy about that.
It's really tough being a neck in this series. Face melting was creepy. I am fairly sure I have an idea of who this Another is from the past couple episodes.
I think this episode made it a little clearer. It's either him or Akazawa imo. Either that or the whole hand-shake-can't-remember-shit along with him apparently being in the town before with no memory of it is a big troll, which would be mildly frustrating D:
Face melting was epic, btw. Nice to see that they dont wanna stick it to "argh bloody death so so scary" only, was getting a bit worried after last 2-3 episodes or so.
