impossible it got ladled on too havily for that this is a bleach style reveal where the author makes it perfectly obvious (grimmjow) then drags it out for so long that when its finally revealed noone actually cares at all

Its hype building. He was just reintroduced recently and so much is happening that its not like they had a lot of time to dedicate to him being seen. Why not just wait until he hits the spot light (IE next chapter).

because if we saw his face when he was first introduced it adds to the hype

I wouldn't even have thought Sabo is alive if not for people in this thread digging out material, like the picture of Whitebeard's and Ace's grave without the speech bubbles and the evasive answer of oda when asked about this very thing.
I personally even forgot about the pipe.

With all that information in mind, however, it was quite obvious that it's Sabo.

There were a lot of hints that Sabo was alive before the reveal which I wouldn't have gotten unless I discussed the manga since it gives you a reason to reread and you hear other people's theories. Sabo "died" in an explosion so there was no body to confirm he died. Dragon brought back an injured body to Ivankov shortly after Sabo supposedly died. There were also three sake cups on his Ace's grave which were impossible to spot because they put text over them for some reason. When fans asked about it we got an original picture where three cups are clearly visible. Oda was also evasive when asked about the cups' meaning.

It is clearly that Buggy was Sabo all along, he just lost his memory etc and got his memory back marineford, we never seen him without his clown make up anyway.

Btw, my money on the big reveal of Sabo's face is that he has a giant burn scar over it.
Or maybe he's female now, but that would be....hard to accept for me.

Sabo and Luffy get married and have a kid. Luffy becomes the Pirate King, gets executed, Sabo goes into hiding, and their child is sent off to foster care with Coby where the manga starts all over again.

I'm happy to know that Fujitora isn't a blank slate stereotypical Admiral and is actually decently fleshed out. The termination of the Shichibukai! Now there's an idea! You know what? After the whole Law fiasco gets out and after Doflamingo gets dethroned I wouldn't be surprised if the order is dissolved altogether. That will probably happen as a result of this arc!

@Power level discussion... One Piece "power levels" aren't set in stone at all. They are incredibly dynamic. To give you an example, try this:
(pre time skip) Luffy > Crocodile = Mihawk = Jozu ~ Aokiji.
See how that doesn't make sense? It's not like there were any direct counters involved either. Just stop it with the power levels and discuss fights with logic.
