First reference is non-canon so can't be taken into account. Those baths could have been salt water baths as well. So your argument is invalid²§.
Moriah's DF is defeated by salt yes but I think it's more that there's something in the salt that weakens DF, not the salt itself.
This is a troll post I don't intend to argue. ^p^

Anyone else thinkg that the explosion fruit could have been really strong if someonelse had eaten it? Mr. 5 is kind of a poser in a trenchcoat.
Although it would probably be similar to modern day war if someone could go around blasting everything like a walking artillery bombardment. Also probably boring to write for Oda.
|
There are tons of small fry who have eaten devil fruit powers and are posers for it. The Mr 5 and Valentine combo was definitely one of the biggest examples of that.
Caribou is another example however it's that he just didn't choose his opponents intelligently.

Okay, i found a quote from Oda from SBS Volume 41:
"First of all, let's discuss the problem of Devil Fruit users bathing themselves. People who have eaten a Devil Fruit are "hated" by the sea, and cannot swim. The "sea" here can refer to anything from rivers, pools and baths to any kind of standing water. On a worldwide level, they are all the "sea." When these people enter the water, not only can they not use their powers, they have trouble moving their bodies at all"

Oh god is Oda wrong again?!?

Well they didn't include the rest of Oda's answer.
O: First of all, let's discuss the problem of Devil Fruit users bathing themselves. People who have eaten a Devil Fruit are "hated" by the sea, and cannot swim. The "sea" here can refer to anything from rivers, pools and baths to any kind of standing water. On a worldwide level, they are all the "sea." When these people enter the water, not only can they not use their powers, they have trouble moving their bodies at all. They might be able to struggle a bit, but it wouldn't do much good. That's if their entire bodies are submerged in the "sea." With less than half the body or just the limbs, it gets easier. Also, rain and dripping water have no effect at all. Therefore, hip baths or showers are the most common choice. Now, in Crocodile's case, "water" is the weakness of his very powers, so his abilities are robbed even in the shower. But it's not like there are enemies around when you take a shower, so I'd bet he would take them even with his powers being blocked. Don't you think? ---And to answer your final question, about myself bathing. As it happens, I do bathe. Twice! In a year!
So bath water does weaken them, but not rain for some reason otherwise the Luffy vs Smoker vs Dragon fight wouldn't make sense. The parts that of their body that are not in bath water can still move freely and use DF powers and not even sea water drains their energy immediately. Sea stone material on the other hand drains the persons entire body of DF energy. The characters can use DF powers even underwater which shows how slow/weak it is compared to sea stone for example when the Robin and Luffy were able to use their DF vs the Kracken.

Moriah has zombies. Zombies crumble under salt

Didn't Luffy douse himself in water when he fought Crocodile?

He has a point, going strictly by that answer She shouldn't have been ablke to use mero mero but one could argue that she was only bathing up until her knees so..

But what made the sea "hate" devil fruits? If there ever is an explanation, I think it has something to do with the void century. Like the world government poisoning the water and destroying the ancient kingdom's power or something.

I am pretty certain that if you reread the earliest of OP chapters you will find that all Devil Fruits are parts of the God of the Sea that have been stolen hence why DF users cannot swim or be active in water due to the "Sea" hating them for stealing it's power. I am paraphrasing a tonne but I think that's pretty close to what was said.

My money is on Kaido turning into Garuda as his mythical zoan thingy. but than again marco already fills the mythical bird role so maybe not. he might just be a fucking leviathan.

Hey guys, I was watching the anime's Punk Hazard arc, and I noticed that when momo is introduced, he goes into a delirious state.
In that state, which is caused by the devil fruit, we briefly see doflamingo's face flashing. The devil fruit is also mentioned as a failure.
In my theory, I think that these zoan devil fruits which are being manufactured for Kaido have some sort of link to a kind of master. Something like that. Those who eat these fruits have their will bent to the master in question. This would explain why Momo is one of the three cards that Nami mentioned. It's also why Kaido wants them. Having an army of Zoans is great, but having them as slaves is even better.

Yeah some other people are making this prediction as well and I dont think its too far from the mark. I hope it is true because it makes for a good story.

Changing topics back to last chapter and guessing what happened at the end. All the flying dust says that it's probably not a conqueror's haki attack. So I'd bet on some super speed attacks that knocked everyone out one by one in nearly an instant.
Now, who could take out a 280 million bounty Cavendish in an instant? Also, who would be well known enough that Sabo would have heard of a specific attack happening before? Thunder soldier has been turned into a toy, so even if he's Kyros and formerly really famous, any special move passed down to Rebecca should be forgotten by outsiders. So I don't think Sabo would have heard of Rebecca's move happening before and that eliminates her.
So who? Meadows is the one named character that is unaccounted for in the last chapter except Acilia and Rolling Logan. However, Acilia and Logan have both been introduced already and Acilia was subservient to Rebecca while Rolling Logan was struggling to get Rebecca. So that really just leaves Meadows.
So who is Meadows? As someone suggested, I could definitely see Mea D Ou actually being Kai D Ou and he's the one who took out the entire arena.
So why is he there? For fun. Why did he attack Whitebeard when he was on his way to rescue Ace? Probably because it would be his last chance to do so. Instead, his fighting desires were satiated by Shanks. Kaido is probably a free spirit who wants a real fighting challenge, much like Zoro (who wanted to enter the arena even though he doesn't care about the fruit). And really, if Kaido wants to go pick some fights in an arena, then who exactly is going to stop him from doing so?
However, I bet the one getting up at the end is Rebecca. Kaido was probably testing everyone to see who was worth fighting and is now hidden by the dust. When Rebecca stands up, he'll probably try to massacre her. Maybe Cavendish does something redeeming to save her... push her off the stage and take the hit himself (nearly killing him).
I've said Blackbeard is like the flip side of the coin with Luffy. They share the same dream, but Blackbeard is the sociopathic version while Luffy is the compassionate version... which shows the reader that just having a good dream doesn’t make you good.
I'm thinking that Kaido will share the free-spirit nature of Luffy, but he'll be a completely psychotic free-spirit who kills for fun while Luffy avoids killing. This once again shows the reader that just being a free-spirit doesn't make you the good guy.
And there you have it. Why Kaido is there, and what will happen when we get back to the arena. However, I do think Oda will send Kaido away in some way after introducing him and letting him show how badass he is in the next round. I don't believe he'll play too much more of a role in this arc, with the possible exception of delivering a finishing blow on some important character (Doflamingo, Fujitora, Kinemon, Sabo, etc.)
Fun Side Note: It seems that Orlumbus is named after Christopher Columbus. Yontamaria is Santa Maria, Columbus's ship. He seems like a pretty minor character though.

why are people obsessed with finding hidden D's? the only person with a "hidden" D was Gold Roger which was probabyl jsut an accident
|
That wasn't an accident, it was just a name people gave me that ressembled his real name.
Kaido isn't in that arena imo.
|
Why people keep saying that Kaido is in the Arena ? Was there anything in previous chapter that make you think that ? Besides isn't Kaido one of the strongest people in OP, I think people would have noticed him already lol
