Blackbeard, Crocodile, Mihawk, Rayleigh(and since Rayleigh was just about the tallest man in Goldrogers crew, also Goldroger) and Shanks all are average size. Also Enel was really tall, too. And he wasn't as important to the plot as he is to fan theories. On the other hand, Whitebeard was half-giant and all the admirals have human proportions(as opposed to manga proportions) because they are modeled after real life actors. Blackbeard is around ten feet tall or something.

Thing is that everyone from Nami's island was weak as fuck. They were all "normal" humans, comparable to actual humans, since they didn't live in the Grand Line. This is my interpretation but honestly that's how it seems to work. Even Zoro when he first appeared almost died by being shot by Marines. Headshot The anime makes things alot less harsh in almost all cases. Whitebeard had half of his face taken off in the manga, in the anime he got punched and thats about it. That being said its not horrible, some manga to anime moves censor alot more.

One way is death, the other would be some form of dealing with his past.

He uses all these crazy moves like the front flip kick, the string grab, string shot and he's just all over the place. His ideal opponent is someone who's really fast and has good observation Haki. Sanji fit the bill but apparently he can't predict the future well enough to stand up against him. Zoro isn't all that quick. He might have some crazy powerful slices but he can't launch them fast enough to counter Doflamingo's battle dance. Luffy with gear 2 is the better candidate. He's got decent observation haki and he can pack a wallop. I don't know if he can stay in gear 2 for the entire fight, but for the duration of his blood boil he can definitely stand up to Doflamingo.

Luffy and his crew get huge bounty-ups because one of his least well known crew members easily rolled a Shichibukai. I should be the author. Clearly nami would be the ideal opponent, she'll just get rid of the clouds w/e she wants and throw some lightning balls

I should reread the entire manga instead of rewatching the anime. I think Whitebeard having a lot of swords being stuck in him also got censored. Point about normal humans outside of the grand line still stands though. Also Zoro is not slow what on earth are you people smoking. Edit: To be fair though the anime did an amazing job making the whole walk to Arlong park amazing. Like, that entire scene, from Nami failing to discourage the village from attacking Arlong, to Nami stabbing her shoulder, to Luffy, to Luffy and the crew walking to Arlong Park... well all that shit was packed with emotion. Nami's voice actor was absolutely stellar.

Would be pretty cool if somehow his ability saved him. Not sure if he was even shot in the heart but who knows I was just thinking about it. Talking about the headshot of Bellemere I instinctively read "possibly Law used his abiltiy and removed his head before he was shot."

I think this is the only thing keeping people from believing he is dead. With the way hes been since hes got to Dressrosa though, it certainly seems though he would have not bothered with such a thing as he doesn't seem as though he wants to live through this. With his abilities being shown with an absolutely monstrous new strength which I don't think anyone could have predicted idk what to believe is in Laws ability stretch tbh.

Also the lack of any background music whatsoever during some scenes really helps ramp up the seriousness of something. Oda is a master but whoever is running the anime is also doing a great job.
