Wasn't refering to him. He was shown to be alive.

He was shown to be alive. No but i was refering to him as he has been declared "dead" and even had sort of a pseudo-funeral at one point. The guy must be pretty damn strong considering what he has pulled off

Some may see that as bad, but the way I figure it is that it makes deaths, when they happen, much more significant. Well theres a difference between significant deaths like Ace and Whitebeard and fodderish deaths I feel as though more deaths within the story wouldn't have taken away from the deaths of Ace and Whitebeard. Personally I think Oda could have made the manga even better if it didn't have that shounen "nobody dies" rule and been more like a story than a manga. Aces death was fucking hard hitting and even if loads of people had died before in the story it would have still hit like a truck and whitebeards death would have been no less badass. I guess I have a thing against the happy go lucky style that mangas go in nowadays.

He was that kind of character though. The kind that is hyped at something without the reader quite understanding until it happens. He said to luffy that the next time they will meet will be at the "summit". This turned out to be true when the Marines took on the most powerful crew in the world. He was shown to be extreamly strong and hyped to be. He then proved this when he fought blackbeard and countered Kuzan despite being in poor shape. Its kind of a shame Ace died so early given we seem to know so little about his true strength etc. We will undoubtly find out more though through Luffys travels in the New World and will hopefully get flashbacks of how strong Ace truly was (which imo is likely Marco level despite what happened vs Sakazuki) given he is Admiral levelish.

Well Marco has a stronger devil fruit that isnt countered as easily by haki users but otherwise i think i agree. The part about ace that made me cry was when he refused to admit that Roger even his biological father, Instead refering to whitebeard as his only father.

I hope this is not about the magic phoenix fire again. The legendary Marine Garp was able to hit him just like any regular fruit user. There is no reason to think Marco has resistance against Haki. He has the ability to heal wounds but he or his fruit is still not invincible.

So Marco has way more endurance and the mera mera doesnt really offer much in terms of utility. Wich is to be expected considering we are comparing a mid tier logia to a mythical zoan, the rarest form of DF there is.
