My statement wasn't aimed at you, and had nothing to do with Buggy (unless you think Buggy is a logia user). Chro said something like "I don't want to say that Haki 'counters' Logia users...", so I was simply saying "yeah, this is true, we saw it happen."

Maybe seeing how losing his ability to swim also crushed him and made him give up on his dreams. Its common sense that Shanks and Buggy trained together they where both greenhorn together on the same ship.
Rogers must have saw something in Buggy which made him take him on. Buggy could have been a Great Pirate but he lost faith in himself and gave up.

i said "devil fruit" because he pretended to eat a "devil fruit" in front of the crew which wasnt actually a devil fruit but just a regular fruit so i added the " in order to differentiate it from him eating the real devil fruit
Buggy is just naturally lucky and charismatic. Both traits of great managers and CEOs. Buggy is living the high life right now. He's a Shichibukai, giving him government immunity and he's got a bitchin crew that can protect him. Buggy doesn't need to move a god damn finger. He can live his life comfortably and how he sees fit.
