Except One Piece routinely defies basic laws of physics so the entire universe runs on magic not just advanced technology. For example just because you have wings doesn't mean you can fly when the human body is pretty heavy with solid bones compared to birds with hollow bones. Even there were a bird the size of a human I don't think they would be able to fly that easily.

Well this basically proves it, doesn't it? The reason balloons float up is because the helium is lighter than air.
I understand that the physics of one piece work on the rule of cool but until I'm given reason to think otherwise, I'll assume there's air there.

Just because there's no air on Earth's moon and the space between it an earth does not mean their is not air on the moon in the One Piece universe. Cuz you know... they aren't the same.

None of this is prehistory or future of Earth.
