I don't know how much character development you can expect from a pilot episode. I mean, by it's nature it's going to be mainly expository.

Can't wait for episode 2, very pleased considering how long I've been waiting ![]() Yeah I'm very pleased with how the first episode turned out. I was hyped to hell with all the content that's been shown beforehand, and even with that I was still jumping in my seat in glee on how it turned out. Waiting a week for episodes is going to be deadly ![]() Also, GRRM is screwed. This series will end up getting more people to read the books and he'll have even more people clamoring for him to finish the series.

Makes me wonder how long the show will last. Well lucky for me my college provides HBO. I loved the first episode. I haven't read the books so I don't know how it compares but I like not having to always compare everything to the book.

Jaime Lannister not goofy? His character has never taken responsibility for next to nothing in the whole series. He's a man who does what he wants and will pick a fight with anyone. I can't imagine him being serious, sure later on he gets a bit more mature, but he will always be wisecracking and what not. He's a Lannister, there always cognitive, Tyrion the most, then Jaime and lastly the Queen. But I really liked the pilot. I went over to a friends place to watch it and I hope people appreciate the series.

Tyrion is easily the best character in the series so far. Dinklage plays him perfectly.

That's not to say that the rest of the characters aren't good, George is a master of personalities, but Tyrion is in a league by himself.
