ran said that only certain families have learnt to use redan. koon is part of that family, meaning koon can also use redan? hes not a hand to hand combat kind of guy, but redan on him would be scary too because hes already smarter than everyone else

Pretty sure part of Ran's reveal to Anak is that he also is super confident he could catch Anak no matter what during that 5 minutes.

I'd imagine aptitude had something to do with it as well. The certain families part has to do with the dangerous nature of the skill, but I doubt that anyone could use it even if they were taught how.

Koon's narration suggests differently though, and I'd trust his analysis given his character. Plus a big reason Ran said it was to bait Anak into attacking him, who knows if he really thinks that's true.

Well but weren't the fact that Viole were the prize known before as well? To either of the FUG teams (FUG fo rela and incognito FUG ala Tangsoyook).
From how I understood it, the only thing that changes is how Viole perceives the situation, and the info came from Emilie might not be too reliable or "final".
Look at how Hatsu/Androssi/Traveller ended up asking Emilie for example..

Beta implies that FUG knows that Baam is the prize. I'm guessing "binding" means being able to control the living weapon or w/e they put in him.
