My guess is that S3 will air in November. I recall watching a panel from Everfree Northwest and picking up something along the lines of "just wait until November". Can't really recall when and what question it was, but I recall it had to do something about a character having an episode centered around him or so. Also heard that there may be a Scootaloo centered episode in S3 (but that was somewhere else).
Edit: Found it again. At 43:30 into the panel they hypothetically talk about the mayor having competition in the election in November. So yeah probably just quite far fetched to assume the season will air then ^^
I'm still kinda sad S3 will only have 13 episodes, I wonder what sparked that decision. Even though it has been hinted that the following season will be longer again.

The decision for exactly 13 episodes? Because that allows the show to go into syndication, as per the 65-episode block as is common in children's programming. Having it is good for business.
As for why the season is shorter in general? Well, the consensus is that the animators needed a break. MLP was just killing them. It's actually pretty incredible that the show looks as consistently good as it does, especially the season 2 finale. This gives them time to work on some episodes they haven't had time to do under stricter schedules, as well as recharge their batteries for a bit.

there has been no season 3 episodes released yet. We will find out in a months time when they are planning to release them.

Definitely a great one. It's probably my favorite since the chapter with Moondancer.
I have been trying so hard to understand this phenomenon and just can't understand it. I just have to ask what it is about this show that appeals to you guys? I tried watching several episodes and just could not see what there is to like about it. I am 23 years old, I used to watch cartoons and have enjoyed many of them, but I could not help but feel like I was wasting my time throughout all of the first couple of episodes. Why do you like this show? Can anyone convince me that I should give it another chance?
Well a MLP movie was sort of to be expected, but it's really awesome to see actual signs of it eventually happening; 66 minutes of ponies would be glorious.

There's a Notable Posts section in the OP, and season 1 episodes 7 and 9 and onwards from ep 9 are a lot better than the first few ones. And even then, some shows just aren't for everyone, it's ok not to like it.

Watch the first 6 episodes. If you don't like it after then, you know for sure it isn't for you.
If you want to watch one specific episode, watch episode 9. The first two episodes are NOT a indicator of what the show is really about (I know you said several, but you didn't specify which ones). Episode 2 being the most predictable episode of all them and being cliche garbage doesn't help either.

Okay. Nice diverse cast of characters, funny, a nice change of pace from the action shows I watch, cute.

its fun, its light, its friendly and unlike most cartoons isnt ALL IN YOUR FACE LOOK MANY THINGS HAPPEN AT ONCE and actually has really well developed characters.
i watched like 1 1/2 seasons and really liked it, then i started breaking bad which kept me busy since. guess will watch the rest sometime. it IS overhyped and this whole brony underground culture thing sometimes is a bit weird (no offense,mlp is awesome but not some revelation for mankind to follow).
but can understand when people dont like it. i mean there are people out there that dont like dexter,breaking bad or doctor who. and with those shows you dont have ponies to "scare" many off before they even give it a chance.
