How I see it: Twilight used the memory spell to trigger the memory in the head of her friends. With the resemblances, the other ponies were able to see those moments themselves thanks to the leading thread provided by what Twilight remembers. They then regenerate their own memories and see how they had all been happy together, thus returning their color to normal.  | ||
